I'm in a FEAR mood, although I played all of them ('cept for FEAR 3, that game doesn't exist in my head) at least 15 times.

I take it this works with the STEAM edition?

Hi there,
I just bought me FEAR from steam.
and installed your Mod.

unfortunately it doens't work...

When i load any of my savegames, i'm dead, right at the start.

and when i start a new game all over: i can't get any weapons in my hand, they are all emtpy.
when i try to holster them, everything starts to get really glitchy..

can someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong?

the mod is probably installed, wasn't a big deal.

Uhm, are you sure you have installed it correctly? Also don't load game from old saves, start a new one.

I've replayed the whole game before release and it works just fine.

i downloaded your mod for the second time, doing everything like the first attempt.
And after that, i used your ,,example" cfg, instead of editing my own.

now it works perfect.

Ok, just tried this mod, seems great but one thing...I had same problem as you at first, then I checked "example" cfg with my actual one and it is clear this mod is not compatible with the "small subtitles fix" found here :

As the later is really useful too, can you (Gunship_Mark_II) check if there is something you could maybe do to get both running ?

Loving the mod. However, is the armor working correctly? It only seems to go down half the time I get shot at.

Also, it seems you weren't kidding about the AI being hardened. Can hardly get out of cover without dying quickly.

I too have had a problem with the armor not working properly :/ Its basically useless to even pick up during the game. Is there anyway I can fix this issue?

Fantastic work.
Few issues:
-On level load, a handgun is added to the empty 4th slot, regardless of if you already own 2 handguns.
-Armor doesn't seem to work, I'm only losing points from getting punched or from explosions.
-Stealth units such as the ones from armatech seem to just ignore their stealth rule set and sprint at you from across the building even if you didn't see them yet.

Is this compatible/usable with the expansions?

Did you strated game from the beginning? Because i've added a lasergun on second mission to fill in 4th slot. I haven't touched anything related to armor nor stealth units. Don't ever load old savegames, that's might be the reason of all the bugs you have.

Nope, started fresh, but I got rid of the lasergun because it felt a little cheatsy-doodles... :p

Did notice the SMG and AR seem to ignore armour and do full damage to the player's health instead. Frequently, not always.

Simply play it slower and more careful than the regular version of F.E.A.R.
Thanks to nicely improved AI, Replica's are shooting more acurate, hitting you more often. And your armor is gone quicker...

That doesn't excuse inconsistent armor damage.

I don't mind the increased difficulty but I do mind the armor value not going down.

That is really odd, because it does go down for me, even in trailer you can see that armor goes down/i have different armor values in the same scene later. I haven't touched anything what i related to weapon damage or armor, so i don't know what's the issue, really. The only theory i have is that AI difficulty multiplier ( magically ) affects AI weapon damage, and because it's so high, armor is easier to penetrate. I re-played whole game before release and i was killed only once by my own grenade.

It really is odd. Sometimes it goes down, sometimes it doesn't.

It's really noticeable during the first levels in the warehouse area.

Ah sorry, was busy.
As far as i seen i can't do that. I speculate that blood decals are an effect, but those are packed into their own database, which has no source code, so i can't change any effect, which makes me sad.

Yes, it's possible. There are the sources in Public Tools. I modify the sources(MS VC++ 2003) for FEAR and get the new GameClient.dll, GameServer.dll, ClientFx.fxd. Now the bullet holes, blood, nails etc. stays forever. But it's terrible that no sources for FEAR XP, so I can modify the first episode only. For FEAR XP I use the disassembler and WinHex )))

Now I found that the decals lifetime are stored in ClientFX\weapons.fx00p. So I made an utility for editing the fx00p files. Now I made the decals stays forever in FEAR XP.

Hi, I've installed your mod on my PC version of the game. I loved the gore, the new weapon sounds and mostly that the weapons are more stable (especially the SMG). I found though some problems:
1. Images on moniors ingame (laptops, video cameras) didn't show. When I deleted the SikkShaders from the Deafult file solved the problem.
2. I've reached interval 4 in high difficulty noticing that not a bullet had been shot against me. So I went in the open with enemies around me and noone seem to notice or fire at me. When I deleted the other file of your mod the issue was solved...Why is it?

wtf? ok im on the 2nd level(the one where you get the laser machinegun) and i noticed something!
the armor doesn't go down when i get shot, only health!!
the **** is going on here?
i even let myself in the open getting shot by the soldiers and i died with the armor completely at 100!!
how do i fix this?

First thing is first. I absolutely love this mod, downloaded it a few days back, and i did one playtrough on extreme difficulty, and the second on hard. IT WAS A BLAST TO PLAY. But i was thinking if there was any way to make the expansions compatible with the mod? I tried doodling about in the Default file of Extraction Point. I got the game to boot up with the MMod's intro screen. The weapons had the new sound effects, the effects for shooting and kicking up dust were there, the new sparks and bullet impact noises were there, blood was kinda inconsistent tho, a strange mix of the classic blood spurts of the vanilla game and the mod. BUT. The main problem was there wasn't any gore the mod had. Couldn't chop people in half with the shotgun, the assault rifle didn't tear limbs off of them. It was just the gore left out of the picture. Truth be told, i could play the extraction point as is with the features of MMod that made it in, and i would have a hell of a time. Any help would be much obliged from you GunshipMark or anyone else. Thank you in advance.

Yeah as other people are saying.. the armor isn't having any effect when shot.
The only time the armor seems to be depleted is when you take explosive damage.

When I use this mod, movement is heavily bugged. I can only move forward and strafe right, but barely. I also spawn without any weapons. What's happening?

I recently download this mod and I noticed a few problems, including the armor problem. But I easily fixed them that I thought to write a few feedback's in case someone else might be interested to download this mod and come across the same problems that I had.

Enemies ignore your presence:
This happened if you have a non patched copy of the game. You can easily fix that with the patches or if you have a copy from GOG, no problem.

Enemies ignoring your armor:
Strangely, this only happens if the enemies are using SMG on you which I'm guessing that if you're using the SMG it might ignore their armor as well. The Assault Rifle and the Shotgun are the only guns that are registering damage to the armor, as far as I know, I haven't encounter the super Replicant with the Penetrator yet or other guns that don't register damage to the armor, so I don't know about that.

I hope that this help's. Overall nice mod.

If anything, I would consider this as your greatest work before Half-Life 2 MMOD. Such a shame that the mod only works with the main game only and not the expansions, (tried to work around it, and the only thing that worked are the sound effects). Anyways I'd probably wouldn't mind replaying the game again.
