Unofficial Menu translation v2 of Fairy Empire(Yaodu) Mod.
Update 10/04/2018: Menu v2
Changelog (v1 to v2):
- Design now exactly match chinese version.
- Main menu color back to grey.
What's next (I hope so):
- Complete v1.05 translation with the few buttons that are missing (just ~80 TGA to translate LOL :D ) and some text lines that are missing in the ENG patch.
How to install:
-Extract all files in "Homeworld2/Data" directory
-Commands lines are the same.
Credits:
-Mod & ingame translation by Fairy Empire(Yaodu) TEAM
-Main menu translation by Capmalo
Wait... is it a dream?
No :p
It's real this time :D
It's going to be a long dream, this is just Alpha 01, to make it more "playable".
Menu need to be completely reworked with all transparency effects, and this will take a while, it takes a whole afternoon to make this one, and there is 3 pictures for each button.
Very hard to delete chinese characters and remplace them by english text ^^
But I'm confident :D
I want to know more about the team behind this mod, because it looks amazing. The ship design alone is inspiring, but the translators seem pretty amazing too.
Me too, maybe I'll contact them later after I finished this.
Thank you :p
I have a question:
Will you ever fix the AI's way of fighting in skirmish?
cause I really hated that handicap for the AI that allows them to build, spam and pour against player and the player's AI ally
sorry forgot to login ~.~
Sorry for the late response, I have been busy since early March (overseas studies).
So maybe yes I'll fix it when translation is done, I don't like it either but maybe it's fixed already in newer versions.
I don't want to tweak scripts too much because it adds bugs so i'll see if it's worth it.
*reply
alrighty, will be waiting for that update!!!
this is really a good mod!!!!
Thanks!!!!
I looked into AI files recently to see how it was done, I think maybe I can do something against that spamming AI :)
I need to do some testing.

Yes it's good. I would like of course the translation of version 1.25. Or 1.2 fix1. It is not easy.
Why wait for version 1.3? To start a translation.
Because a lots of assets are commons between differents version, so I will use them later in v1.3
Most part of what I do is delete Chinese characters in TGA files to remplace them by english translation, as the author did not made different layers for text and graphics, plus they used alpha channel. So it's very hard and very long as I want to keep the exact original design.
Lately, I do some changes, so it will be faster than ever :D
Will you be doing english translation for the ver 1.3 of the mod after translating this? (I wish that someone make a classic version of 1.3 or even 1.2/1.25 my computer is low end like 2GB RAM.) Oh, I forgot is there a download link for 1.3 of Homeworld Remastered? Because they said that it will be only played on 1.3, I searched for some links but none of them showed. Thanks
Yes of course when I have the time to do it I will !
You can found 1.3 on the official forum (in chinese) here:
Yaodumod.com
nice install instructions
i cant get it to even open. my target thing is "F:\Sierra\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe -mod ,yaoduMODEN.big,yaoduMOD.big,yaoduMODpatch.big -overridebigfile" and it doesnt do anything, it goes to balck screen and then CTD. someone please help.. i can play the steam version just fine but i wanted to download this mod onto my original disc copy of HW2

Hey! I love this mod, and I love the effort to translate this mod to English! This mod is really well-made, and I appreciate you trying to make this available to more of us. I am, however, stuck on the ship names and descriptions. The ships only have $(number here) in their name and description. In the version on the Steam Workshop, this was not a problem. I believe it is because I have made a mistake with the load order or command line. My current command line is '-mod yaodumod.big,yaodumodpatch.big,yaodumoden.big' while the mod files are in the 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Homeworld\Homeworld2Classic\Data'. I also found that putting the files in the mod version of the data that Steam provides does not work. I appreciate your help :).
