Couldn´t get it to work =/, I Got this error:

xml parse error - File. \Data\XML\GUIDialogs.xml: file has syntax errors, see log file

Went to check the mod´s XML folder, there is no file named "GUIDialogs.xml".

You're the second person to give this error, which is strange as we've never even used GUIDialogs.xml, are you installing the mod in a clean installation of the game>

Yep, even re-installed and re-downloaded the mod. Other mods and normal games continue to work though.

I´ll give it another try.

Noupe, doesn´t work; I tried copying the vanilla GUIDialogs.xml to the CaW xml folder; It didn´t worked but it gave me this error:

"xml parse error - File. \Data\XML\SurfaceFX.xml: file has syntax errors, see log file"

Thought I had to add the GUIDialogs.xml to the GAMEOBJECTFILES.xml, that didn´t worked either as it game me the same error.

I also edited the Shortcut "Start In" line, if left blank, when I run it the mod gives me the "xml error"; If I edit it as per the read me, it just closes the game in the first screen.

:S, maybe it´s coz I have Gold Edition, and something related with the installation path, but IDK.

Nvm, finally got it to work; turns out I had to update my FOC to 1.1, then run as Admin.

Now it works, thanks a lot for your time Blamtroid.

please help im having installation issues i extracted the mod into the star wars forces of corruption folder and i put the Caw first release folder into my mods folder and when i try to change the icon to run Caw it gets an error saying the file path doesnt exists for target "C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption\swfoc.exe MODPATH=Mods\CaW" and for run in i put "C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption" is my Caw first release folder in the wrong place?? please help

Try using the halocaw.net downloadlink of the moddb one doesn't work and be sure to read the readme. It's all in there.

Really the only thing I've found that I'm not a big fan of is your decision to make the mac's an ability. The mac is the unsc's bread and butter along with the shiva. It would have made more since to have the shiva be an ability instead. Thats probably why some people are having trouble playing the unsc.

You have to take into account the fact that it takes a while for a MAC to recharge, you don't want your ships blindly firing them and stopping you from using them effectively.

One thing I was curious about was the meaning behind a ship having "two" MACs. I understand what it means in terms of the fiction, but in terms of the gameplay does it make the ability recharge faster or do more damage? I was just wondering about that.

The original plan was to have ships with two MACs fire twice in quick succession, but we've yet to get it to work like that, I believe that they just recharge faster at the moment.

That's usually due to a bad install.
First try re-installing the mod. If that doesn't work re-install both FoC and the mod. Be sure to use the latest Foc patch (1.1).
If all of that doesn't work PM me.

There are some things I noticed in the game.
-Why I can't buy fighters in UNSC?
-There are some debris that don't disappear causes a lag in the game.
-in the Covenant Assault Carrier description, it mention about 5 TIE fighters. :))
-I'm having trouble clicking Covenant Assault Carrier.
-UNSC don't have the part pointer in their ship unlike the Covies.

Overall, I enjoyed playing the game! Thank you! Merry Christmas!

You'll find the UNSC fighters in the Fighter shipyard.
The Assault Carrier thing is an issue I didn't notice until after releasing this, it'll be patched soon.
The UNSC don't have targetable hardpoints because they require so many missile launchers that their ships just become giant green blobs if we make them targetable.

When I enter the game it loads just fine but when getting to the menu the options are like transparent and when I start playing there are no unit or action images its like the mod is showing above the normal FoC, any idea of whats the problem?

Ah, CaW. Been tracking this mod for a while, now - and I am doubly pleased with this release. Space Skirmish it may be, but it was sheer incredibility. I just finished a battle with the covvies... definitely fun.

I did spot a few bugs, but nothing to get in a twist over; IMO, the battle was perfectly balanced to canon. Provided the UNSC has the creds, they will build a f***ing SWARM of ships. And send them after you. More than once did I have to replace a ship or two.

All in all, this mod (if incomplete) just made my Christmas. Thank you all, and merry Christmas!

-It might also help is to give smaller units, like the UNSC Prowler and Covenant Pickett, a fighter-esc "icon" that can be clicked on to take command of them/attack them, since some of those smaller units can be a bit hard to see.
-I'm a bit confused as to how the MAC is supposed to work. When I click on the icon, it seems to give me the ability to chose what I want to fire at, but then it just seems to automatically fire at something completely random, usually not what I intended it to fire at. Also, the AI never seems to use their MACs from what I've seen, although they're able to use the energy projector and other abilities just fine.
-In terms of the UNSC, it might help to have clearer descriptions on what sort of role each ship is useful for, since a few ships, like the Athens frigate and Heavy Frigate, seem to be very similar.

I'm sorry for nitpicking so much, I just felt I should point out what might be improved on >.< Overall, this mod is AMAZING. It plays really well, the models for the ships are really detailed and true to the source material (I especially love what you guys did with the ships you designed from scratch), and even with a million Archer missiles whizzing around at any given time, the performance is always really good. A Halo space RTS has always been something I wished would be made, but always knew wouldn't be, so this is essentially the best Christmas gift ever. Thanks a ton! :D

- That's quite a good idea actually, especially for the prowler, might look into that :).

- That's due to the FoC engine allowing opportunity targeting, if a ship comes into range before the one you intended to fire at, your ship will more than likely fire at that one. It's annoying, but there's not much we can do really :/.

- The AI don't use the MACs much because their targeting is a bit rubbish, I've actually just finished changing the models for the entire UNSC fleet so that they aim a whole lot better, I'm hoping to get a patch out on monday with this and many other fixes and tweaks :).

Okay, tovarishchi - been playing with CaW a bit, and I happened to notice another bug, one with the Lighting; On one of the Coruscant Siege maps, the lighting seems... odd. Panning the cursor over some UNSC ships and the Covenant station makes the colors flicker. Additionally, UNSC Missile blasts seem to distort the colors. I don't know if that's a conflict with vanilla EAWFOC's color scheme or what. Just FYI.

If you wish, I will continue to update you with what bugs I can find (I have too much free time on my hands as it is).

Yeah, that's a weird conflict between the vanilla maps and our new shaders, should be fine once we've got our own maps made.

I did exactly what the install instructions said to do, but when I use the shortcut, it launches NORMAL Empire at War, not even Forces of Corruption.

Run the PlayCaw.bat file inside the SWFoC folder. that should run the game if you are having troubles in the shortcut.

Excellent work on the Space portion of the mod, just the spirit of fire in conquest is only a destroyed Mon cal crusier. I pray Galactic conquest, heroes, and ground units will be amazing as well. Will any super units like the UNSC Infinity and the Covenant Super Carrier be included in the next update?

You're not really supposed to play GC as this is a Space Skirmish only release :P. And to answer your questions:
- The infinity might be added, it all depends on what happens in Halo 5 and 6
- the Covenant super carrier would probably be way to big (and powerfull) to properly balance out. Than again if the UNSC does get the Infinity it may just work out.
At this point it's all speculation really.

I kinda figured GC was pointless to play now but I was curious. The infinity might be on par with the Super Carrier. Maybe halo 5 and 6 might introduce more.

I downloaded this mod, but the graphics in game are completely messed up, and the game doesn't display anything right, why is that? Everything shows "no name" and the graphics are just a mash of EaW textures.

Hey guys I found a bug in skirmish. Apparently you can't destroy the enemies space station and the enemy can't destroy yours. After all points on the stations are destroyed there is a bit of health remaining and the units won't bother attacking the bases after that but you can still access the station.

Oh and the Orion class is AWESOME!!!!!!!

I think this is due to a change in one of the codes to prevent the Covenant from destroying your starbase with their energy projectors. I am however not sure, as I didn't have time to fully test this patch yet. So thanks for the headsup :)
