Brace for impact. Release day is here, after almost 5 years of work, Apex Studios finally brings you the first release of Covenant at War.
This release, as stated in the previous update is a SPACE SKIRMISH ONLY beta version, including both the UNSC and Covenant sides. There will be regular patches following this first release to fix any issues found and add plenty of new content.
Install Instructions:
It's easy. In fact, even if you forgot it, you could look it up easily, either here or with the included read me file. You only need to extract the downloaded zip file into your Star Wars: Empire at War - Forces of Corruption directory, copy the shortcut file to your desktop and change its target to reflect your installation path.

And he also out numbered the enemy fleet by... 3-1 odds?

Man, the UNSC is soposed to SUCK compared to the Covenent....even in ground battles (even though the Humans have better small arms), But especially in space. The UNSC has the MAC cannon yes but the Covenent Plasma torpedo is guided toawrds the enemy ship, rips through both human and covenent sheilds as if they were paper. In space the only adavantage the UNSC has for 99% of the war is that their commanders have realised that retreating is the better part of valor(unless it is earth we are talking about). dont mean to be an A** with this comment.
I'm having trouble installing the mod, because the Instructions are very vague. And I've never messed with properties for my games before.
Any help would be appreciated =]
Like maybe a copy and paste for what I have to put in lol
You can copy and paste the 'mods' folder (present in the rar) into your c/programfiles/lucasarts/star wars empire at war forces of corruption folder. You'll need either the shortcut/batch or the petrolauncher to play it.
You'll have to change the settings of the shortcut accordingly to the Readme. But since you said you've never done that before, it may be easier for you to download the petrolauncher and use that. This way you'll only have to copy-paste/extract the 'mods' folder from the rar to the above mentioned location.
I can not download the mod
do you have any links to a launcher that works on windows 7?
I do not know of a launcher designed specifically for windows 7, but I am sure both the petrolauncher and the shortcut (if set properly) both work (I can use them).
I'm having a few problems too, most of them having to do with the Gold Edition on Steam. I think I installed the mod alright enough, but no matter what I do the game always boots up the original EaW, which doesn't support the mod. Any ideas on how I could get it to run? Thanks!
i got the same problem dude.
HOLY SWEET MOTHER OF JESUS ITS HERE AND IT AWESOME.
No lo puedo descargar Y.Y
I would really appreciate an english comment next time, translaters are hard to work with :P
Have you tried the second link in the news post? (this one: Halocaw.net)
EDIT: sorry I just saw the other (english) post you made.
First the Stargate mod and now this? This month has been great!
Downloading now. I doubt I'll be disappointed.
Never mind, I got it to work just fine! So far I'm loving it a lot, but the UNSC ships seem to have a hard time staying pointed at what I want them to aim at. While this is probably a leftover from the AI the original Star Wars ships used, it is a tad bit annoying when I want them to aim straight to fire their MACs at a wave of incoming Covies, and all tjey keep aiming completely backwards.
Also, it seems like that Longsword and Shortsword have their names swapped ^^; Other than that, it seems almost unreal to be playing this, I wouldn't bat an eyelash if you charged for it!
Great to hear you got it to work. We don't really have a lot of experience with steam or the gold pack so I am glad it's working fine now :)
The UNSC aiming can be lousy at times, but I usually 'solve' this by letting the AI handle the aiming. Getting the ships close or at least moving in the right direction really helps at times. So let's hope it'll help you too :P
How did you get it to work? I also downloaded the gold edition off Steam and I have no idea what to do.
Never mind, I figured it out. If anyone is wondering what to do when you download it off of steam, it is in the read me.
how did you get it to work?

I get an "XML directory" error thing.
Syntac error in unique units to be precise.
This is an unknown problem to us. We did have a bug with the CCS cruiser giving off a syntax error, but that one does not utilize the unique units xml. Please PM the error to Blamtroid.
my read me won't work any ideas why not
Why is it that I can't open or save the download?
Open = 403 Forbidden
Save/Save AS = Nothing at all
It works fine for me, but if the moddb link isn't working I'd suggest using the halocaw link.
there wont be a icon fix will there?
cus my icons are jacked up when i play!
The Icons work just fine for us (and this is the first time seeing this complaint). I would try to reinstall the mod.

Can you specify the error? Or is it only numbers and letters (so no sentences)?

That's odd as I can't recall that particular xml to be a problem. Does it say GUIDalogs or GUIDialogs (with or without the i). If it's a type than I'd recommend re-installing, of it's not a type than I'd recommend changing it to GUIDialogs.
Hy guys i need help. I mad it to the part where you shall put in new properties for the short cut.. I changed the top one to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Empire at War\corruption\swfoc.exe" and the bottom to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Empire at War\corruption" and then i pres use. and then i go out to te directory, and stat the short cut and i end up in star wars empire at war... i dont get it someone please help?
I am not really familiar with the way steam handles this, but I would try swapping the lines. If it works please PM, as I am getting the feeling the lines have been swapped by mistake in the Read me.
I see this every time with EaW mods for Steam.
1. Install mod as usual to the steam version of Empire at War
2. Open Steam, right click on the game in the list and choose properties.
3. Click Set Launch options
Then use
sweaw MODPATH=Mods\ModName for EaW
swfoc MODPATH=Mods\ModName for FoC
ModName can be swapped out for any EaW or FoC mod, so in this case it would be
swfoc MODPATH=Mods\CaW
Thank yo soooo much ive been trying to get it to work for 2 hours.
This is a very good release :)
Thank you :)

The lines will probably be the same, except for the hard drive part. Usually this is C:\. You can just replace this with the letter your other hard drive has been labeled :)
Exactly what DGaius said, just change the drive letter if you kept the default paths when installing. I have pretty much every game installed on a secondary drive so I know from experience.
UNSC AI don't upgrade their stations past 2. Pretty boring while fighting as the Covies.
Which is odd, because it worked fine while we tested. We'll try and figure this out.
One more problem I have encountered. Halcyon and Marathon debris does NOT delete itself over time. I've found this to cause major lag spikes in game.
I've noticed that problem too, but the UNSC corvette also leaves permanent debris as well.
It's a good release, but it isn't perfect by any means. My first issue is that shortswords are the fighters and longswords are the bombers. It should be the opposite. Shortswords are bombers. Longswords are fighters. Shortswords are atmospheric craft but I can see why you'd use them. Having longswords as both fighters and bombers would be confusing to the player. Also, there's some balancing issues. The covenant is WAY overpowered. I realize their ships need to be more powerful, but it's nearly impossible to beat the covenant as UNSC. I could only do it in a 2 vs 1.
I dont have a mod launcher program, but the way I install mods is after the download, I review the files in the download and compare it with the files in the original game. I then remove the files in the original that have equals in the download and replace them with the mod files. If done right, then you can play easily, though it might be buggy.
For some very odd reason, every time i try to download the mod from gamefront, the web page reloads twice and then gives me an error page. And when I download the mod from halocaw.net, i click open file and it doesnt do anything even after ten minutes.
Couldn´t get it to work =/, I Got this error:
xml parse error - File. \Data\XML\GUIDialogs.xml: file has syntax errors, see log file
Went to check the mod´s XML folder, there is no file named "GUIDialogs.xml".
You're the second person to give this error, which is strange as we've never even used GUIDialogs.xml, are you installing the mod in a clean installation of the game>
