Contra 008 Beta II.
Happy New Year to all of you!!! We are happy to inform you that Contra 008 Beta II release is ready!
Installation instructions:
Put all files inside a clean Zero Hour directory (with no mods installed) and rename Scripts folder to Scripts1 (which is located inside Data folder).
Only one of these files must be inside your Zero Hour directory:
"!Contra008Beta2RU.big" - for Russian language.
"!Contra008Beta2EN.big" - for English language.
Zero Hour version 1.04 is required!
If you see strings like "MISSING:bla-bla-bla" instead of names and descriptions and/or purple rectangles instead of buttons and unit icons, here's the fix:
Extract !Contra008Beta2.big and !Contra008Beta2EN.big with FinalBig in a new folder named with the language of your game (German, French, etc.).
This new folder must be in the same folder where you installed Contra.

To extract:
Press "Edit" and "Extract All", then choose the folder.
If you want to play other mods at the same time, make a copy of a clean Zero Hour and install 008 Beta in it. 008 Beta will be launched from the new folder. Other mods will be launched from the other folder.
Note: Challenge mode is not finished yet. There are a lot of fixes and additions, but it's just not finished. There's more to come. ;)

Bug found, at the start of skirmish, Cyber, Flame and Assault Generals' command centre gets destroyed and message enemy has been defeated appears
only those?
because thats an anti-piracy counter-measure put in place on the C&C series from day 1.
I don't have this bug, or nonsense, or u have antipiracy mechanism.
I have something similar, or perhaps the same.
Cyber,Flame and Assault just sell their Command Center.
The other generals and their A.I works fine.
Did you rename "Scripts" to "Scripts1"?
İn my game ı didn't rename scripts but poison and demolotion general building only barrack.

Nope stil stuck when you kill all the buldings and hidden tanks of the Laser Gen.
The game wont go to next Gen.
Great update is the better laser defences
And there is one thing he goth a partical canon and we have to wait til hell freezes over before we can build the superweapons :-))

The Challange mode is unplayible
The Gen against who you play are to strong on medium even on easy
The have superweapons and you have scratch nothing.
Was playin against the Demo Gen and he came and destroi all my buldings and I was just bulding a tech center
So need more balance in the Challange games please
Also game crashes on some Gen when you play Challange mode
on contra 008 beta 1 the challengeMode is cut out ,maybe need more test before is full playable.
Try using a different general ,maybe only demoGeneral IA is "OP"

Arabic and Chinese voices still there, no big deal i can handle it. But i renamed my Scripts folder to Scripts1 and did a test round on Flash Effect. GLA is fine but nuke gen just builds Barracks and that's it. Do I space the 1 or rename the actual files? Anyhow great beta improvement :D

Air force general challenge crashes after a certain amount of time, mostly it was after they sent their second wave of planes.
Time: about 10-15 minutes before it crashes.
This is not cool since, laser starts with air force, Super Weapons and infantry have this as their second challenge
so please release a patch or a fix :(
Laser General against Airforce challenge: building more than 5 rangers after 10-20mins of playing causes the game to crash(Serious Error)

Yea, it is understandable, but in the first beta it worked perfectly, and here it doesn't?
That's kinda strange, dont you think?
There's still a lot of things to fix especially AI in some maps.
I expect the removed/renamed some unit, and the ai on that map at 10-20 mins in game is like "OMG i can't find this unit i'm supposed to build... AAAAA" and crashes the game. Or they could've made a coding mistake in the challenge...

We have the same error, in superweapon general.
maybe can help ,this tipe of error when if some unit\bulding code is mess up
Unit Builded (and faction used) before the crash? ,or crach once the game start?
try play Solo No IA on map ,and try this way : V
Esample :If you build the paladinTank the game crash = that unit need fix
or if game start ,the CommandCenter or Dozer Need to be fix

Excellent news for Contra 008 Beta II, I like this mod the most! But Contra Team did not fix bug in challenge when you face Laser General on hard, you destroy all the buildings but no "YOU ARE VICTORIOUS" and you cant play further.... I wrote about this bug on BETA I... Have you any suggestion ThePredatorBG?

That fix for 007 should work with 008.
Thanks for try, but stil nothing. I put a "patch" you gave me into c:/program files/ea games/cnc zero hour. I don't know do I have to play from beggining laser general challenge map? After putting file into directory I run the game and load Before I destroy all the buildings of laser general and nothing hapend... same... can't go further. What could be a problem, I can pass all generals challange of NORMAL OR EASY, but HARD as I said...
