Description

What I uploaded was actually an older version. This patch updates a bunch of unit stats and costs and also adds a few others. To install, simply extract the folder in your main Soulstorm directory (after having installing the beta), overwrite old files when asked permission. I apologize for the trouble. Enjoy!

Couple of random bug reports, cus hey, this is what this is for:

- Assuming that Dark Eldar is some of the least worked on race for this mod thus far. Many Dark Eldar upgrades have no icons, and the transports seem to have six available upgrades, but the upgrade numbers go to two when a squad of standard soldiers load in.

- Chaos seems mostly working, with Icon Bearers appearing for Chaos Undivided and the cult soldiers appearing right for the other 4 factions. I'm still in the middle of testing for the Renegade upgrades, but the Iron Warrior clone seems to not unlock the special vehicles like Medusas and Basilisks yet, assuming the vehicles may not be added. Still got the other 3 renegade variants to test.

Also, there seems to be no model variance for Jetpack + Servo Arm

In the middle of testing the various Mark/upgrade combos still, but this is what I got thus far:

- Khorne -
Favored Berserkers don't show up for them at all for some reason. Otherwise, everything seems in order for that race. Nice touch on adding Flesh Hounds, btw.

- Tzeentch -
Screamers, like Flesh Hounds, appear as well. Assuming eventually this will be a trend for more demon units in general, which I like :D Favored Rubrics showed up properly, as does the Sorcerer Lord's ability to get Doombolt as part of his upgrades.

- Nurgle -
Didn't have much time to practice this mark yet, but Favored Plague Marines show as proper, same with the Plaugebearers and Great Unclean Ones.

- General -
Unless they are not implemented yet, I see no options for Chosen squads of the Chaos marks, guessing these have yet to be implemented or taken out of the description texts. Similarly, in my earlier derping around with the advanced Renegade options, both standard and Favored squads of cult soldiers showed up as Elite options. Unintended?

I am running into consistent fatal AI errors. One per match, in fact. The circumstances under which this bug was produced are as following:

-Installed the mod onto a clean copy of the Steam version of the game when it was released. Played it for a few hours against the AI.
-Applied the patch that shortly after came out.
-Made a custom IG regiment in the army painter.
-Played as Chaos Undivided against the IG regiment, producing a squad of Khorne Berzerkers before choosing the Zeallous trait.
After a short amount of playtime, a fatal AI error occurs. Playing another map and taking these same steps has caused the error to occur again, and then later again.

Later, playing as the Eldar against the IG to see if the problem was the race I was playing, I encountered the same error after some time.
In all of these cases I was playing on a 1v1 map against Imperial Guard, and they seemed to mostly use infantry throughout the game, and occasionally sentinels and chimeras.

If relevant, I can post my computer's specs too. Performance-wise the mod has run excellently so far however.

Imperial Guard AI is currently bugged and has a high chance of crashing. Black templars have no AI at all (sometimes crashes, other times just doesn't do anything). We're working to solve those issues for the next patch.

Not connected to my Chaos testing, but took a round or two of derping around using the Sisters, and fuuuuuuu.... the poor gals need some work. Either I was using them wrong but in similar conditions to my Chaos playing around earlier, they were absolutely getting wrecked by even base Ork squads. I know this is probably because they've not been as worked on yet like the core races were, but just a remark. That and I had NO IDEA what the Act of Faith abilities they had did or how they worked.

I get an issue where certain units won't build at all, they will queue up but not begin producing.

Still trying to narrow down the bug, it's happened on Spehs Muhreens, Inquisition, and Dark Eldar thus far.

Really great mod guys!!
But I've got 2 questions: First, almost all units in skirmish games(in their respective buildings) and in the army designer have some weird code instead of a name and description. The same goes for all technologies. (I played the Dark Crusade version a lot, so I'm quite familiar with the icons, but it's still really hard if I have to guess every ability. I know its a Beta but are they supposed to appear that way? (I read some comments but couldn't find anyone with the same problem).

The second thing would be the AI. In at least one out of three games I get a "critical AI error" message that appears like the "you are victorious" message at the end and the game just stops. As I said, one out of three times, after ten minutes in the game. Additionally, if I try to play a map with less players than its supposed to, like a 3vs3 with just 5 players I get that message right at the beginning.

I just can't believe that those things are normal. MAybe some kind of corrupted download? (I tried reinstalling and redownloading it 2 times).
ps. I also have an older Version of the UA mod installed in the same folder. Do I need a clear Soulstorm folder or are the mods compatible?

This mod is really great and I can't wait to crush some Dark Eldar for the Greater Good. Would be nice if anyone could help me :)

Having problems launching the mod, every time I select it in the game manager and restart, game crashes with the error "failed to initialize video card". Then when I relaunch the game it only runs in a 800x600 window with a black mouse cursor. Running the steam version, Windows 8, with an R9 290. Any suggestions?

Some of the Chaos traits are bugged.

Aside from the aforementioned Iron Warrior bugs, Act of Terror for Chaos Undivided doesn't work at all. The trait says that a the faction will no longer be to requisition daemons or cult troops, but even after getting it, those units are still available. It also says that regular troops can infiltrate, but that ability doesn't appear. Lastly getting Art of Terror is supposed to change your Chaos Lord's appearance to that of a Night Lord with lightning claws, but alas that does not change either.

This mod is excellent, however. I'm very glad someone decided to take the reins to give it the work is deserves.

Guys, i need your help!
I just downloaded the mod and its awesome.
But i have some problems.
Wraithlords are indestructable :D
3 of them destroys my whole army and my base. I tried meta guns and power fists or something efficient against vehicles but i cannot even target them with melta bombs.
Please tell me how can i get rid of them.

1st they aren't invincible, I suggest don't use infantry when against them, I defeated Eldars using Imperial Guards... they even made 3 Wraithlords against me..

I've been waiting for the SS version of this mod for so long! DC version wasn't enough because my girlfriend wants to play as Sisters Of Battle. Unfortunately, Inquisition is still very bugged right now (missing icons, descriptions etc).
Is the mod still being developed or is this some smuggled version from the moment the developers stopped working on it?

Still being developed, just very slowly, because we currently have very few manpower. I couldn't host here if I didn't have the developer's permission after all.

I'm trying to see if we can make another patch before christmas. However we're currently lacking anyone who knows how to make the AI work for all races, and that's one of the most common complains around.

This is extremely nice to hear. I keep Soulstorm solely for this mod! Although good AI wouldn't hurt, I'm looking forward to play this mod mainly with and against my friends. Anyways, I assume you won't be able to make proper AI before all the units and stats in place so I have high expectations towards the upcoming patch xD. Keep up the outstanding work!

I recently downloaded this for Soul Storm, and I love it. It worked perfect for a while, until I played the Inquisition. Now it seemed to have bugged out. The bug is such: SO far, only the Orks, Space Marines and Inquisition are only able to produce troops from their HQ buildings. Nothing from the troop buildings or vehicle factories. The que pops up, but no progress is shown, even if rebuilt. What's odd is the AI on enemy teams can make troops perfectly fine, but AI on my team cannot either.

Love this mod but it does the same thing that most huge dawn of war mods do. Adds way to many units and they are almost all the same except minor differences maybe 2 more upgrade weapon slots or something. Other than that good i would also suggest making turrets and buildings have more hp, this has always been an issue in soul storm and even more so with this mod. 300 hp on a turret or building is kinda laughable makes the games alot quicker if you play someone who knows what they are doing. Also it's alot easier to keep your units alive when you see all of their health bars not just one when you hover over them.

Hi, So I've been playing the Dark Eldar in this patch and I'd just like some explaining of some things. Firstly why did you decide to limit which Kabalite warriors could ride is raiders? Secondly why is the "Power From Pain" separated from the regular Kabalite warriors(And all other Dark Eldar for that matter)? Thirdly, Are we going to see the special weapons in Raider craft in the future, currently the special weapon becomes a wych I believe. Finally how in the world do you grant the Archon upgrades, I can't seem to figure it out.

As a side note, I was wondering why all of the ranged damage numbers are 26 for infantry, yet some armies are inherently better at shooting than others, are these reflected in different ways? Such as the Rubric Marines, whom I thought were supposed to be the best bolt throwers the Chaos had still had the same 26 damage. I am naive to this subject, so please explain.

As one of the new factions, Dark Eldar still have a lot of work to do:
-Indeed the Dark Archon has no upgrades coded in this release.
-A raider has a limited number of models it can transport in TT, so in FoK the squads with bigger caps can't ride in.
-Power from Pain warriors was an idea I had for a tier 3 Dark Eldar unit, since DE was severly lacking in super-elite squads for late game.

As for ranged weapons, you have to remember that damage isn't everything, there's also penetration. Rubric marines inferno bolts for example ignore power armor or worst, meaning they deal full damage to other marines, while normal bolters have their damage reduced to 1/3 by power armor.

Are you guys thinking about adding Wracks, or some of the other Haemonculus units for a heavier Dark Eldar troop choice? Your speedy response is appreciated. Also thank you for explaining the damage debacle. I was really confused as to why certain armies were blatantly better at shooting than others.

As usual, DE commander upgrades will be based on the respective codex upgrade option, we're seeing how to convert them to a RTS scenario. Also we have a wrack squad on the works, but not any other haemonculus units simply because we have no models.

3.Add turrets and artillery please! As an Imperial Fists/siege warfare kinda guy, it's hard to make an impenetrable doom-fortress with plznerfmelol levels of dakka with only five or so turrets. Perturabo laughs at my pitiful base and steals our Chapter serfs' lunch money.

The Eldar's Warp Spiders just have a string of code in place of their name and when they're spawned they have this pink model with no animations titled Swooping Hawks with actual Swooping Hawks models...

This mod doesn't seem to be in a particularly playable state.
