Just the beta patch#1 for Clear Sky Faction Mod vers. 2.4.2.

NOTE : This patch might be a unstable.
Change Log:
New Features:
- Repair Kit's Revamped - Repair Kit now allows you to salvage parts from weapons and armor and use them to repair your equipment.;
- Two new kinds of NPC's : Mechanic (Repair Items and sells Repair Kits) and Medic (Heals you up in exchange of a small fee of 1000 RU);
- Weapons and Suit's Ordering System - A dialog based selling system that allows you to buy new equipment (unique one) via Nimble;
Gameplay:
- Added new weapons and new unique weapons;
- Capped the belt slots number : Reduced to 8 slots;
- Disabled the grenade mini map spot used when a npc throw a grenade;
- Implemented new ammuntion type and added 4.6mm caliber ammo;
- Nerfed Awl and Snag weapons to TOZ-66 (BM-16);
- Rebalanced Weapons;
- Rebalanced Trader's content and prices;
- Rebalanced "properly" random weapons loadout for npc's;
- Weapons dropped at NPC's death no longer does get unloaded;
Tasks:
- Added one new task by Nimble;
- Kill Tasks targets can be random NPC's;
- Removed MissionMod by Barkeep;
- Bug Fixes & Text Fixes:
- Added a missing "" in info_l03agroprom.xml;
- Fixed Warrant Officer bribe at Garbage;
- Fixed Clear Sky Respawns - Now they should properly respawn all ranks;
- Fixed actor_freedom - killer (Merc's) relation - You no longer will be neutral to Mercs if you are a Freedomer;
- Fixed missing description of outfit_ecolog_m1;
- Fixed a typo in ogsm_surge.script;
- Fixed a typo in xrs_armor.script;
- st_game_over text is now "fixed" : "The Zone has claimed another life." (Gramar problem);
- Removed "immortality" to some NPC's in order to prevent broken quests (e.g.: Skull Assault to Freedom Base);
- Introduced a few fixes from ZRP's 1.07 RC3\RC4;
Misc:
- Added a few "new" ogf meshes for player outfit model;
- Added new npc_profiles (csfm_faction_rank) to the game used in non-unique NPC's;
- Renamed a few weapons;
- Removed the ppe effects when you have high radiations or low health;
- Replaced a watcher_act.script loot anim for a better one;
- Replaced MP 40 model for the one made by D.Kruger (AMK forum);

- xiani_config.scripts options moved to csfm_config.script;

i keep crashing. I got the version 2.4.2 didn't work then hoping the patch fix it. well i didn't someone help. error is at begging and deals with this xrXMLParser.dll find it in bin in clear sky folder. is there somthing else i need to install

Its included in CSFM as an option so it should work if you use this included version. I don't know if if standalone Smart Maruder will be 100% merge able.
So I got a friend to upload to torrent and downloaded.
Been playing a bit, it's a lot of fun. It's crashing at least every 30 to an hour however which is a bit of a downer, and it doesn't even give a crash log so I cannot help pinpoint the exact cause.
2 example of crashing:
1. I shot a clear sky enemy in the head with a 357 magnum, which undoubtedly would've killed him. And it crashed.
2. I had a companion, and I was in sid's bunker. When you have a follower and are in his bunker the companion tends to go crazy running all over the place. As I was trading it just crashed at some random point.
question: How exactly does the total faction war option work? Do faction stalkers (e.g. duty, bandits, monolith) actually travel out of their intended zones or do they just get spawned in random areas all over the map, because it seems more like the latter. Literally 10 minutes into starting a new game, duty, monolith, and clear sky were already fighting each other in the cordon.

1. That's new to me, can you try to replicate that and post the crash log (if you don't know how to get it read this : Moddb.com ) in a new thread on Moddb.com forum of this mod.
2. I advice you to tell him to wait when you go there so you won't have your follower annoying you with that.
3. No new spawns on it, it makes possible to every factions to be present in every level\map.
Replicated the headshot bug, though this was a more heavily armored clear sky faction member (the one with full helmet)

The one that caused first crash of this kind was the one with the hood, so it seems to affect all clear sky.
Are you using Smart Marauder Mod optional mod?
If so, that's the problem because I didn't update the addons with this beta patch :)
Ah yes, I was.
So it wasn't able to add the suits upon death. Easily fixed. I just replaced the underling ones to drop stalker suits and the higher ups to drop military suits.
Now, I am getting this random crash:

Don't use Smart Marauder with the beta patch, it isn't updated for it.
C Stacks Overflow CTD is a known bug, reload a save is your only "fix".
I'm not sure why you insist on not using smart marauder.
It works perfectly fine after I replaced the clear sky drops.
Lowering the A-life radius to 125 seems to have solved the c stack overflow ctds for the most part. Still happens once in a blue moon.
I'm familiar with the companion script but I cannot find it anywhere. There weren't at Gamedata.db changes because they're all dated to have been last modified at 2007, so where is it located, what is it called?
The reason I ask this is because the default following parameters for this script are absolutely awful. Companions run too far away from you to talk to them (which is why kamikazze added a handheld radio) and they stay too close to you (constantly, even in combat) to be of much use at all.
Boy do I feel dumb. It wasn't Kamikazze's scrip but red's. Looked in your stalker AI feature's tab, I should really be less impulsive and look some more in the future.
A few questions:
Say 2 stalkers, one from bandit and one from duty are fighting. I am a bandit. The bandits despite having 500 relation (friend status) they are still yellow. So simply shooting that duty guy that the bandit is fighting will turn him friendly to me? It's just that it's really hard to get any companions. You can join a faction but they're still not green to you. So 9/10 I just have to pray I come across a wounded friendly. A really neat feature would be to hire someone from within your faction, the price depending on their experience. Novice: 500 experienced 2000, etc.
Is there currently a limit to how many followers you can have? This is hard to test since it is hard to get many stalkers friendly to you, not to mention of same or neutral factions. Is there consequences to companions dying? I just remember kamikazze's script containing such consequences, and unlike following distances and such, it was very hard to locate the lines that affect such.

I insist to not using it in this patch because I changed a few outfits id (wich inclues CS outfits).
There is a few ways to a npc be friend with you. By doing quests, by helping them when they are wounded (Give them the medkit), join a faction (depends of the faction) or help them in combat (There's a chance if you hit the same target as them or if a you kill the NPC that attacked them,etc)
Actualy, the conditions to be able to be "hire" them:
- player is friendly to npc
- npc rank is less or equal to player rank
- is not in excluded table (Check actor_need_help.script)
- team_cnt variable is less than 4 (Meaning : It's limited to 4 or 5 npc's as followers)
- NPC has the dialog to be hired (Almost all generic npc's has this dialog)
NOTE : I am not sure if the current released patch has this changes but the one I am working on have it :)
And finaly, your last question, if your follower dies, there is not consequences.
I keep reading about Clear Sky Faction. Do, I need to install Clear Sky Faction Mod to my Clear Sky Directory or my Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl Directory?

Known Bug. I have not found a fix for it so far :S
Seems to occur when npcs with Kar98 are nearby.

I have a problem with my S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl, i cant use this mod because it crash the game, i have some questions:
- I use version 1.0006 and 1.0005 and didnt work, whic version can use?
- When i load my game in 1.0005 it says "XR_3DA has stopped working", how i can fix this? (I put all necessary for the mod, i put the True or False, the xRGame.dll and Gamedata)
- I have one part of Faction Changer Mod, in 1.0005 and 1.0006 dont work, in the ZIP theres a file that say Crack for 1.0004, so i can use the 10004 right?

What language version is your game?
What patch are you using?
Did you used any mod before you did installed this one?
Did you do a clean install when you did installted this one?

I think it isn't the mod fault because the file in cause is part of the game.
You could try to run the game with the -noitro command.
If it keep crashing, play 2.4.2 without the BETA patch.

Create a shortcut of stalker.
Open Proprieties, destiny and add -nointro to
"C:\***\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl\bin\XR_3DA.exe"
So you should look like this
"C:\Jogos\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl\bin\XR_3DA.exe" -nointro
And start your game using THAT SHORTCUT.
well, i tried with the 2.4.2 version but it does the same and i cant do the nointro thinggie, can you explain how to do it because i dont know a thing on that site how to do it
