This is a graphical mod developed by a russian modder called Berserker. It's an active project since 2008. The mods purpose is to enchange Quake2's graphics.
"Error during initialization video" this is what I get after trying to start Quake 2 - Berserker Modded version. I am trying to run it on windows 7, can anyone please tell me how to fix this problem, I really wanna play this game with this awesome mod....
when i launch it i get "Creating models cache, please wait..." but nothing happen got a fix ? i have the 1.40 and i've placed all quake2's packs in baseq2 of the mod
Just a quick question. I downloaded this and the updates from the site up to 140. Does this mod also work with the expansions Ground Zero and The Reckoning?
Downloaded it, took about 5 hours to convert my stuff ( about 1500 maps ),
but it was worth the time. This is incredible. I got all the other engines
but this one is the best ever seen. Thx.
Can`t say much about bugs ( v 1.4 ) by now, but I freaking like it.
Normally should work with expansions... as far as I know.
Read something about you should try playing in coop-mode for the new weapons to work.
Haven`t tried it yet, will tell you more when I have.
To get Berserker to work with eraser bots, I found a workaround.
Start a dedicated server with normal q2 and all the eraser stuff you want, then start Berserker with +set game eraser +set net_compatibility 1 and connect to that server. It works good and I simply love i t. I think it works with other mods that way also. Only thing is that levels and models which differ from your baseq2 folder have to be cached once ( lengthy process when you have so much stuff like I do ).
While I converted my files I experienced the problem that Beserker crashed sometimes during the process. I found out that it does not like every custom map (possibly leaks in the map, but I dunno), just deleted them and everything went well.
I hope I could help some people with these tips.
my only complaint is that the enemy model textures still look outdated. there has been alot of higher res enemy model textures floating around the internet. ive seen a little of that kinda work. any thoughts of incorporating something like that into it, maybe even keeping the models them selves the same. anything would be an improvement. best regards
This mod is great, but there are two things I would like to change if possible. First, is there a way to get rid of the blue halo filter when you are underwater? I would also like to make the rail gun tracer look more like vanilla Q2. Are there any simple config edits that can make this happen?

Can i play Missions packs like Ground Zero with this MOD?

When I run Berserker it says it's loading character or something and then the program stops running. My desktop screen changes too. It become lighter.

As for now I didn't manage to get it to work with the MPs but I wull keep on trying and tell you how to do it.

use something like IDM ,and right click to download all links and choose the ones from 1.38 and above.
Does this engine support the Quake 2's skin? (the classic one, and i've got two that are cool to me)

forgot to mention I'm using version 1.4 im getting invalid models in the mdl creation as well invalid checksum any ideas how to fix this?
I got it 1.38 to work alright this game is epic! thanks so much, its awesome!
