The initial Arx End of Sun - Beta Release is finally here! This release is for Windows. The game language is English only at present. Download the release in .ZIP format and extract to a temporary folder. From here you can launch the Windows installer to install the game. We hope you enjoy the game. Regards Arx EOS Team.

I've been looking for your blog guys, since i discovered this mod (with the chicken WIP news), it was like ... 6 years ago !! and everytime i was seeing a new pic, or a new development step, I was really happy..

YAY!! Never play the original Arx before but i'm game for anything DooM3 mod related. Not to mention an RPG mod. ^_^
So happy to see this released even in beta, still didn't played it, but even tho it could end being nothing like Arx i can only give kudos to you guys, i know how hard and frustrating it can be to make a mod like this and on idtech 4 engine above all, fantastic job guys.

after a short amount of time something attacks me that i cant see or fight and i die.
You are probably hungry! is there a knife and fork icon on the right hand of the screen flashing? = eat some food from the inventory.
Or you might be freezing to death, move near a torch, or fire.

Looks great, finally, congrats, really long dedication. I had problems, game apparently works fine except I can't see anything of the graphics, only a black screen and torchs/smoke and interface, nothing more, main menu is black too but options, start image and video demonstration, interface and sounds are ok

It appears to run fine under Win XP sp3. Thanks for your hard work.
Iam getting an error that when i open up the game it says library error couldent load. Any help?

Hi, please check to have full read write permission for the game folder.
How do i do that?
It depends on your OS, in Win7 it's something like:
- right click on game folder -> properties
- "Security" tab, then modify your user settings
I suppose this since the game needs to extract the library file when starting, and that won't be possible if you don't have write permission. Make sure that "ArxEoS.exe" inside the game folder inherits the write permission. Anyway, as solarsplace said, post the error message as I'm just guessing what the problem could be.

Because you are not providing the error message like we asked or will even confirm which version of Windows you are running we can only offer generic basic help based on guesses of what the error is!
I believe the issue is that the game cannot extract the "gamex86.dll" into the game folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Arx End of Sun (Beta)\base\"
Can you see "gamex86.dll" in the above folder? if not try the following:
Open Windows Explorer. Browse to the game installation folder ( default = C:\Program Files (x86)\Arx End of Sun (Beta) )
Right click on the folder "Arx End of Sun (Beta)", select properties, select "security", Click "Edit", Click "Add", type your Windows user name, click "check names" make sure you got the logon name right! click "OK", now in the list click your Windows user name, click "Edit", make sure the "write" box is checked. Click OK 2 times. Now try the game.
Well i have the gamex86.dll, im gonna send the error message trough contact form, dont know why i havent done that before.
Please try to run the game with admin rights and/or in compatibility mode, dunno if it could solve the problem though.
I have already tried runnning the game with admin rights or in compatibility mode but still it doesent fix the problem.

We have released a patch for the initial beta release that resolves all serious issues reported so far.
The beta release contains all available content and the game can be played from start to finish. We are not aware of anything unstable in the current release.

put the game in somewhere other than programfiles if you're having probs..

I thought Arx End of the Sun was just another dead mod since there were very little information along these years .. I'm glad that I was wrong. Going to test it soon.
Hi, I'm having some problems with installing. Well, after launching setup nothing happens. Tried extracting it on c: and d: but it changes nothing. I also have full "read write" permission.
Win 10 x64

Nvm, I've put it on E: and now it works... So if you're having problems with installing, I suggest relocating setup file within some drives.
Started playing and its awesome, I love the changes to magick.
Keep it up guys no pressure, im wondering if there is another update planned any time soon.
So, whenever I load up the mod, I can hear the dialogue spoken to me and see the text, but everything else is entirely black. Like, I can't see what's in front of me at all. Is there a fix for this? I'd love to try this mod.
Weird. Got this project Followed yet got no info about beta from May 22. Went there because someone reminded me that one in shoutbox in some site.
Got a lot of fun with previous release despite hunger issues, will test this one.
