This version of AOPK includes the Wildlings and Nights Watch as playable factions in the Lands Beyond the Wall. It also includes many other improvements such as the Stepstones, new Building Changes, new Ancillaries, and much more.
The Grand Release of Age of Petty Kings 3.0. This mod takes place long before the War of Five Kings when Westeros was divided between countless Petty Kingdoms. Install instructions below:
The Grand Release of 3.0 is finally here! This has been a long road, but we are proud to present the final version of Age of Petty Kings to you all!
BASIC INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS: Rename the Petty_Kings_3 folder as "americas" and launch the Americas campaign the usual way. The method described below is much better as it lets you have more than 4 mods available at a time, but if you don't want to bother, just use this one.
BETTER INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS: This is a very convenient method for installing all M2TW mods, not just mine.
1) Make a copy the "Launcher.exe" from your M2TW folder and rename it "kingdoms" (if you already have a "kingdoms.exe" you should be fine). Remember: Don't delete/change your origional Launcher.exe, just make a copy and edit the copy!
2) Put the Petty_Kings_3 folder into your mods directory and DO NOT CHANGE THE FOLDER'S NAME.
Assuming you have the "kingdoms.exe" and the correctly named "Petty_Kings_3" folder then you can simply double-click on AOPK.bat in the Petty_Kings folder and it will launch the mod.
ENABLE BANNERS AND OTHER CHANGES: To enable banners on the battlefield, go to the AOPK.cfg file and under [video] change "show_banners=0" to "show_banners=1". You can also make other changes here like always opening in Windowed mode, etc.
HOTSEATING: If you have not already tried your luck at hotseating in Westeros, you're doing something wrong. You can join Hotseat games (and find out what hotseat games are and why they are AWESOME) here:Twcenter.net
KNOWN BUGS: There are some remaining issues that persist, some having to do with M2TW memory problems, some not. They are:
a) Selecting the "BROKEN" era in a custom battle causes CTD - This has to do with M2TW memory structure and it conflicting with our recruitment system. You can access all of a factions units on "Faction Rosters", the units plus mercenaries on "Faction Rosters Plus Mercs", and the entire regions rosters with "Region Rosters" so you should be fine.

OTHER: I believe I have all the credits and permissions in this mod properly checked out, but on the off chance I made a mistake please PM me and I can correct it immediately. A lot of people put their hard work into this and we all deserve credit.

Great mod, even better than 2.0! I've got only one problem... why can't i recruit a diplomat as House Bolton? Can i do something to make it spawn?
One should be available at the dreadfort. If it isn't then that's a bug...
There's a way to solve it?

AOPK 3.0 is far more better than 2.0 but I'm only annoyed when I fight an army. My commander says "FOR SCOTLAND" O.o BTW it's very awesome :)

Great mod and I can tell alot of work has been put into it but I'm having a few crash issues as well. Occasionally through the game but I can just load the last save and it's good although recently it's seems like every save is being corrupted. Everytime I try to load it gives me a "encountered and uspecified error and will now exit" any ideas? I was on a roll with the Hightower faction before this.
We're looking into the corrupted saves issue now. It seemed related to the Others script, so maybe try reloading from before that triggered if you can?
Hi, the mod is absolutely amazing, great great work !
But after 100 rounds i have encountered a rather common Medieval2 problem...
An ally faction of me died and our status of being allied is kept, same as its status with another AI faction being enemies.
Thats why right now i am not able to ally with that third faction, which is clearly a bug.
There is a script written to work around this bug, but for the script to work, you need the advisor to work.
Somehow in this mod there is no advisor, when you click on any of the question marks in the map-screen, or diplomatic screen, settlement screen, whatsoever, no advisor shows up!
Can you help me ?

ReallyBadAI disables the advisor, and I'm not sure what's up with the alliances bug...
It looks like the saves work fine before wall gets attacked. After that I haven't been able to load a save. Is there any kind of work around for now? I'm really enjoying the MOD but I cant leave my computer on the game all day and night.

Yeah I am unable to load my save game ether and the message popping up saying the Nightfort has fallen. So I'm guessing the "event" is causing a bug.
when i play as the nights watch, i often get attacked by the white walkers. but when they besiege a city of mine, they allways forget soege equipment and their whole army gets destroyed and the white walker leader dies.. this something others have noticed? if so you should fix it

Everything was perfect until the nightfort was taken by the others, I sent men to attack them, got obliterated, game crashed at the end and now unable to continue or load campaign without game crashing.
I couldn't load the game or even play for long, without having a crash, until i tuned down my graphics, maybe same problem?

Hello! On the 3,0 version, is there a way to add victory conditions like in the others? i added the old victory conditions from the last downloads, but when i did that, it got rid of the new stuff made for 3.0. help??

Hey, I have tried both the basic install method and the better install method. For the basic install method, I downloaded this version of the mod and then placed it in the mods folder. I renamed the "Petty_Kings_3" folder to "americas" and then tried starting the Americas campaign from Steam, but it only starts the Grand Campaign for Medieval II: Total War. For the better install method, I created a copy of the "launcher.exe" and renamed it as "kingdoms" and just left the Petty_Kings_3 mod folder, with the name unchanged, in the mods folder. When I go to the AOPK batch file, however, I get an error saying Windows cannot find "kingdoms.exe". Any suggestions?
i use steam as well and i can't find the "AOPK.bat" which the better install instructions says i should double click on
battle crashes are the most annoying thing with this. otherwise it is a superb mod but the crashes *need* to be fixed. Some happen when entering battle, some during battles with apparently no real reason. i tried lowering settings and setting unit size to something smaller but it seems not to be related to performance issues.
Hello, I have just downloaded 3.0 after enjoying 2.0 and was curious if the save bug was fixed yet?
I downloaded the campaign_script but can't find a similarly named file to replace. Can you tell me where to locate it or should I just drop this in the scripts folder?
Thank you for your time, I've been playing this mod since the original release and am really looking forward to seeing what is new after how amazed I already was with 2.0.
Edit: I found where to place the file I believe (data/world/maps etc.) and now the pop ups in the beginning are missing, which I assume is a problem. I am going to try it with the original file and see if I run into the save error or not.
I found that while playing in hotseat mode I am able to continue saving and loading after the Others event begins. Haven't tried it for single player yet, but anyone having trouble could try playing in hotseat mode instead, which can still be played single player.
