The reason why is because the current release contains neither, as it is a beta release which is incomplete. The campaigns and challenge mode were deactivated because changes introduced in the mod broke them (scripted units didn't exist, sides had been changed, AI was altered, code shifted et cetera) and it would have taken a very great deal of work for questionable gain to fix them. The final release will implement a brand-new campaign featuring the Russian Federation and the European Continental Army, but the challenges will likely remain broken as the Rise of the Reds Generals system will be completely overhauled to the alpha version model.

Rise of the Reds is an enhancement mod for Zero Hour.

20 years after the Zero Hour timeline, the world has changed dramatically. After the nations of the world invest in the untapped regions of Africa the global economy explodes after countless amounts of valuable resources are found. However, peace is hard to find when the GLA resurfaces, eventually leading the Russian into a massive depression and left to starve without aid from their so called allies. In desperation, the Russian Federation pulls their massed forces to lead a massive invasion of Europe, in purpose of claiming their own resources and forcing them into a unconditional surrender.

Will you play as the Russian Federation and reclaim the glory of Mother Russia?
Or will you play as the European Continental Army and defend your homeland?

Rise of the Reds will add 2 new factions to the story, giving a total of 5 unique armies to play from. Will sport over 100 new units and unique maps to play on ranging from Europe, Africa and the Americas.
