After both four and a half years of
development and a sleepless night full of frantic modding, the first public
beta is ready for release. To be clear about what it contains, it is the full
UNSC faction as the only selectable race. No vanilla races, no covenant, and no
forerunners. Not that the latter two races won’t make some sort of appearance within the beta, but it’ll be up to you to
discover where they reside within maps. Most of the coding is in various states
of completeness, and not even all the models are final, especially referencing
the Phoenix-class and the Flood. You’ll likely notice both a custom soundtrack
and unique voice-overs from the excellent audio department as well as a brand
new UI. There are several custom maps, including some of the more specialized
PvP maps (for example, Chokepoint and
Epsilon Eridani) that incorporate
some SotP concepts revolving around capturable wealth in Asteroid Belts. The
speed of the combat will shock those who haven’t observed battles in our other
media and is a heavy departure from traditional Sins. Have fun, enjoy the mod,
and more importantly, join the community. There’s a healthy multiplayer
following already in place and waiting for you to jump online.
The Covenant will be released
likely within the coming weeks along with other support and additions. Stick

1) Make sure you procure both
Sins of a Solar Empire and Entrenchment or SoaSE: Trinity that is patched to
the latest version.
2) Select the version you currently have. There’s currently a schism between Steam and Trinity
purchasers (1.055) and non-trinity Impulse/Gamestop supported customers (1.053).
3) Run it, it should
automatically install to your Entrenchment mod directory.
4) Start Entrenchment and
navigate to your options menu.

vanilla SoaSE and will likely result in memory leaks if you’re running it at a
level your computer isn’t able to handle.

of both Sins and the Mod and you should be good to go.
