skilled 2d artist required - menu/interface/hud etc fuzon designs anywhere artists - project brief - ----------------- current build video = http://youtu.be/1xc-lsce93q game title = tr-zero dev studio = fuzon studios game genre = futuristic, high octane racing (think xgra/wipeout) platform = windows pc (32/64bit, vista +) engine = oddity engine 2 (brand new, dx11 only, high performance pure c++ engine) - project background / goals for tr-zero - ------------------------------------------ this project initially started 3 years ago using a different engine. as my skills progressed, i have since rebuilt the game from scratch using c++ in march of this year. i've always loved xgra/wipeout style games and wanted to create something bigger and better on the pc platform. daytona usa arcade was my childhood inspiration and still is today. the ability to have 40 cars on screen and give the user a great experience over and over again is what pushes me to create a racing game based on todays tech. - tr-zero is currently in alpha stage, but, progress is coming thick and fast. - the whole purpose of this project is to push the limits of whats possible (inside the engine, and, project members). - key targets are gameplay, user experience and replay value (weapon upgrades, various race types etc) - the current build supports 40 bikes on screen, full weapons systems for all bikes @ 60fps on a fx6300/hd7770. - there is no current deadline for release, or, sales requirements. this is a project which will be created with love/care and attention to detail. if that is a success, i'am sure sales will follow. - why i need you - ------------------ i am a programmer at heart, and, as the project is growing quickly, modelling/texturing/design is becoming a large task. i require assistance so that i can focus on pure programming, and, give you the ability to show off work. - who i'am looking for - ------------------------ having the skills to do the job isn't everything. i need someone who looks at a empty canvas and can build wonders with attention to detail, whilst, enjoying every second of it. a multi-skilled person who can spend their free time creating works of art, and, be easy to get on with. this project isn't just about making a game, its also about building a friendship and blending our skill sets into making something beautiful. the visual interface experience of this game will be your top priority, and, you will be working with me (the programmer) directly to achieve perfection. - requirements - --------------- - past experience with proof of original high caliber work. - ability to concept/design a complete menu/hud/icon interface system from scratch using 2d texture (sprite) render methods. - knowledge of texture/sprite layering to achieve visual effects. - work directly with myself (the programmer) to discuss methods/ideas for your design, so i can implement them into the engine. - a visual flare for "futuristic style art". - a understanding attitude of "what you put in, is what you get in return". - enjoyment and sense of achievement for every piece of work you create. - ability to take constructive feedback, and, share ideas. - ability to use im chat for conversations (eg: skype) and dropbox. - plusses - ----------- - can dedicate time to work on the project, 2+ days a week - knowledge of dxt1 and dxt5 dds file formats. - understanding of texture optimizations. - multi-talented, and, would like to work on other aspects of the project (eg: balance testing, feedback/idea input etc). many thanks in advance kind regards dan
