Founded in 1982 by Trip Hawkins, EA was a pioneer in the early games industry and was notable for promoting the designers and programmers responsible for their games. For the first few years, EA was just a publisher and didn't expand to development until the late 80s and started supporting consoles in the 90s. They also began to acquire successful developers and in the early 2000s became the worlds largest third party publisher. They recorded a net revenue of US$3.129 for FY2005.

Why do you hate the company so much?Look at their progress, from making the best WWII to making the best modern warfare series, are you kidding me?If they didnt exist we wouldnt have the battlefield 3 "The Best FPS" yes their games might be buggy but they are doing their best to fix.

No... If EA didn't exist, Battlefield would have grown as an indie game.

It's because they're Westdrones. If westwood had been in sole charge of C&C4 production and it still turned out the same way, it would be praised as the best C&C. Merely mindless hate crusades.

We intelligent people will simply wave them off. C&C fans don't know what they want. EA's been giving it to them since day one and they're still not happy.

It's like dealing with children.

Hey guys,

please bring out some native games for Linux or port old ones!

But do you know why the people don't like EA? Just do a better LTS like Blizzard does! Patching games that are already 10 years old (Diablo 2 back in the days) is really awesome. Shutting down online servers (like for LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth and many more) is really ********. You make the people escape like that! Be aware of it!

EDIT: And buying and destroying companies is also not the best idea (e.g. Maxis)!
