Here it is ladies and gentlemen, DX9 wrapper to properly allow running ReShade
So I was able to get this running with the files provided in this download simply extract to your main Thief 3 directory to make it all work. I have my own settings to make the game brighter. However, feel free to make modifications that suit your liking in the mastereffect.h file.
This now brings HDR, Ambient Occlusion, SSGI, HBAO and even tone mapping to the game depending on the settings you choose. I am continuing work to figure out how to implement POM or something similar and hopefully with the next release this will be possible.
Thank you crosire for the dx9 tool, AnKor for a proper dx8>dx9 wrapper and Mcfly for the MAstereffect shaders.
AnKor?
He did the DX8>DX9 wrapper for a different game, some rally game but it works with Thief 3
Where can I find it? (binaries, source, etc.)
I don't think the guy ever released any source for it, but here the link to the thread Bit.ly Here is a bit more info Bit.ly
I would also message the guy who posted this for info on translating older directx calls to the dx9 vertex pipeline Mxoemu.info I think he did this through some exe hacks but I could be wrong. Let me know what you find out. Would be awesome to get this functionality to other wrappers as well.
There's a Matrix Online server emulator? LOL!
Yeah same with TAbula Rasa. Projects to ressurect the dead MMOS. But the point being if you read Raj's post he talks about coverting the game lighting calls into ones that modern GPU interpret much better. The result is better looking environment and less glitches visually. I figured since you seem to code you two could find something to talk about/make/integrate into current DX9 injectors
