Sorry if I'm being a bit of a raging fan but...The Star Forge has been destroyed long ago and Alderaan too.

yes Alderaan is destroyed, but the empire hid the secrets in the maze of its asteroids. and the Star Forge part of this is more based on a 'what-if', where the Star Forge was not destroyed and the Republic made-up a conspiracy theory and told everyone that it was destroyed. and later the Empire found it and hid it from the Rebellion in fear that the Rebellion would use it against them.

Hey, No offense, You had a good thought behind your map but atleast two issues I would have would be:

1) How would they move the star forge there and how would it function since it draws on power from a star.

2) If the old republic hadn't destroyed it and the sith won that war, Wouldn't they not even have to worry about rebels then?

answer to 1st= it shouldnt really have power for it should be like a 'dead' thing in a graveyard.
2= the starforge is broken making it useless, but the sith were hoping one day to be able to revive it, which may be the case in a gc, like darth_kavak said

I must admit then, With a few bending of facts here and there of course, you've got a great Idea. Nice thinking, Although it still sucks that I can't seem to get custom maps to work on my eaw :(

could you PM me whats wrong, i could probably fix it, same happened thing with me.

Also, am my bending the facts a little too much, it might help to know these things to make a revised addition later

I've got the gold pack. But What I meant by bending the facts is if you take out little things like how would the star forge move if it didn't have power yet also how would they move it away from the sun it was located above. By all means I don't mean it's not a good idea or that its a bad map, It's seems like a good map but I'm just one of those people who like to know the "Background" or some sort of story line behind things. Oh and I haven't got a clue about the problem, I put the maps in the custom maps folder but it doesdn't show them when I fire up the game. Maybe If I try out your map and see if it works?

hmm, that was the problem i had, try moving your custom maps to the 'original' map folder, that might make it work, and once i make the revised edition (i.e. galactic conquest version) i will try putting in a better back-story.

hope i helped :)

As A suggestion I think it's be nice if through out a campaign or galactic conquest you had to find peices of tech or something along those lines. And also, whether it's a cut scene (I'm not sure if your able to make one or not) or something else, I beleive it would be nice if you explained a little background through out the story line or in the begining. I'm sure you have it covered but those are just a few suggestions...

i dont think its that bad, uv got a good idea, just need a bit of tweaking maybe, like there's a star in the background of the map, like giving the star forge energy perhaps, and like, if this was a Galactic Conquest map then u cud have it like, production speed increased for all space units! that wud be realistic, and maybe only specific units could be built on the star forge system! like unique units! :) just a thought

Hey, I know it's been years but I hope you see this. I installed the map and it plays fine, but the star forge itself isn't in it... Any ideas of what I did wrong? I put the XML files in the XML folder and created a new folder for the models (because there wasn't one, go figure)...
