Description

This mod adds a new lightsaber into Singleplayer color with full color support of blade, trail and glow. Besides, this is not a specific color - its RGB saber. For those who do not understand what I mean, I will explain - the color of the saber can be adjusted. You can choose what this color will be, white, pink or gold. For every saber and every blade you can choose a unique color from the entire visible spectrum. For simplicity, I made a convenient menu color settings. In addition, at any point in the game you can change the color of the blade using the console commands. No support for NPC's provided; they can use RGB sabers, but the same color as player's. Now compatible with Windows x64.

Yes, it is compatible. But RGBSabers starts basejka by default, so you should modify .bat or simply load moad via Mods in JKA configuration.
Also RGBSabers SP is compatible with any saber blade reskin mod, yet RGB saber blade will remain standart, because it uses different (my) textures.
Due to the fact that my mod is alone in it's kind, it should be compatible with every mod.

I love how you assumed it wouldn't work with saber realism. Colour changer, saber combat are two different things.
Also i must say your mod is a must have, i love this RGB single player lightsaber colour changer.

I shall incorporate into my mod and add credit to your name, presuming you would be okay with such a thing (KOTOR for jedi academy)

thanks for the feedback, but i managed to get it to work (after a lot of fiddling with console commands). i just found that the directions were pretty confusing. personally i think that you should be a little more specific as to what you type into the console. but all up i think its a really impressive mod.

Every saber by itself, no matter is it original or not, is compatible with RGB saber color (if it has light blade at all :D). New hilts mod for usually alters the saber menu. But, only one sabermenu could exist, so every mod saber menu will be suppressed by mine. You can have menu that includes hilts of single mod, or menu with RGB color. It isn't incompatibility, because RGB color by itself works well, menu handy, but not essential thing and could be deleted. You can delete my menu and customize saber color only via cheats. Also nothing stops you from cheating that mod-added saber via "saber blahblah" (no need for menu). You can get it's name by opening .pk3->ext_data->sabers.
About console commands, I was thinking it's obvious (at least I've added examples).
sabercolor X rgb - makes X saber rgb. Only after using this cmd saber blade will become customizable. X could be 1 or 2.
rgb_saberX color - defines the color. X could be 1 or 2, too. The only complicate is what color is. It is string of color blocks (for each blade), preceded by a colon. Each block has 3 numbers, separated by commas. Each number defines red, green or blue channel (exactly that order). Minimum value is 0 and maximum - 255. How it looks: ":red1,green1,blue1:red2,green2,blue2: ... :red8,green8,blue8". You can have up to 8 color blocks (JKA supports sabers with 8 blades). For example, if you take the staff, set the color rgb and enter "rgb_saber1 :0,255,255:127,0,255", then the first blade of the saber will be cyan, and the second - violet. If you'll type "rgb_saber1 :0,255,255", both blades will become cyan, coz if the color for the blade is not specified, game will automatically apply the color of the first blade.

Hmmm, I can move the sliders on the RGB menu, but the saber stays the default color. Same thing if I change the values through console commands. They even show up in jaconfig.cfg as having been changed after I exit, but no visible effect in the game. I'm on the Steam version, if that makes a difference, and the only other mods I'm running are some skin mods.

Don't run the game from Steam. Run it using starter for your system. Read the readme.

Yep, I've been running RGBSabersSP.exe. I also tried the Uniject method mentioned on another site. The multiplayer version works fine, so must be some small detail or quirk of my configuration I'm missing... hmmmmm.

Hi back -1.#IND0000,
(the first post by "guest" is mine)
I spotted the bug and found new informations.
First i think that i know a little much how work this mod.
All components of this mod was set to admin-right.
however, although there is less bugs, it's still have a problem.

In Windows 7 mod (no compatibility mod)
The game can load exactly 7 levels where i can be sure that the lightsaber will display the RGB color well.
7, no less, no more, the 7th make my lightsaber become a pack of gray and blank squares.

In XP compatibility mod, The game do the same but with 5 levels, and here also, no more, no less.

Please i need some advice to make my blade ALWAYS use rgb color when i launch JA with the DLL injector.

there is no way to make it always be your light saber as far as i know but i found something just as good, you can bind an unused key (say... u) to the cheat, bind u sabercolor 1 rgb, so for 2 sabers you would put, bind u sabercolor 1 rgb 2 rgb, but if you didn't change both secondary saber colors to something they will go blue when you use the cheat, you also have to have cheats on but you can also bind helpusobi 1 to something

a little bit tedious, but its better than nothing

When you are changing color via cheat sabercolor <num> <color>, it isn't changes forever. It's not my fault, JA reloads saber color on each map change. If you'll set rgb saber color to red, it will be changed back at the next level as well. There is some cheat-protected cvar that stores info about your saber color, but I don't remember it.
"7, no less, no more, the 7th make my lightsaber become a pack of gray and blank squares."
Game couldn't load shaders. If you'll delete .pk3 file of RGBSabers, you will see the same.

I have no idea. It's not a problem of coding-side of this mod

Reply Good karma+1 vote

There is 2 possibilities.
I will try it by Xp mode windows 64bits
If it's work, the mod don't support 64 bits seven version.
If it's don't work, the mod is not really supporting 64 bits versions of any windows, or, it's for an other problem.
Maybe my game is corrupted ? but i have officials CDs it's seem incredible, but possible, when i install the game, an error effectively pop up, and i have to remove and insert again the cd, but the game works well after...
Are you running it on a 64bits version, you personnally ?
Or a 32 bits ?
Are you using Seven ? Vista ? Xp ? 98 ?
Maybe it's also a coding-side problem too, although you don't think so.
Sorry for all this questions,
For a so old game, and for so stupid stubbornness i have,
but i hate unresolved puzzles.
Thanks for all.

Nice mod btw, i really love the customization options.
But I have to say that the annoyance is huge. I have the same problem as Guema. After a couple of loads, the saber becomes a chaotic blur of gray blocks. When I issue the commands again: (I have a bind) "sabercolor 1 rgb; rgb_saber 1 :0,255,255" The saber turns blue, just the original blue. When I delete and replace the .pk3-file, it's the same story again, after a couple of quick-loads, the problem's back. I really hope theres a solution to this.

Im running the steam-version on Win7(64), if thats interesting.

thx in advance

Well, I have messed around a bit, and the best "solution" so far (for me) is to add the copy/replace command into the .bat, so whenever I start from the .bat-file, it will remove and replace the .pk3-file and start the game. Works for me as I have a SSD, and the game loads very fast anyway. Not sure if you can call this a solution, but hey, i'll grab what I can get.

do this solution fix the gray and white squares problem ?
what did you write in your .bat file ?
Thx.

i added a delete and replace command into .bat but don't work, after a couple of loads, gray and blank messy blocks...

I can't get the menu to show up to change the saber color. Hitting the RGB button thing just changes the saber back to blue.

Set Jasp.exe to admin mod too. Be sure all programs like fastinject.exe are also in admin mod. after all, if you uses 32bits version windows, run RGBSabersSPx32.exe and if you are in 64bits version windows, run RGBSabersSPx64.bat.
to set file in adminmod and hold it in, right click > Properties > Compatibility tab > tick the "admin mod" checkbox.

It seems that the sliders don't work to change the color of the blade. I've tried running both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions, but neither work.
