This Mod removes They pronoun from Character creation by modifying a dll file.
Tutorial is included on how to do it yourself.
This Mod is for v1.0.0 of BattleTech on GoG. Initial release.
This small mod remove They Pronoun from Character Creation for those who don't want it.
It only removes it from the Caharacter Creation screen. The logic behind it is still in the game, so random pilots might still generate with They pronoun. (To Remove this generation, adjust percentage in SimGameConstants.json before starting a new campaign, location: {GameInstallDir}\BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\data\simGameConstants to something like the folowing snippet)

Don't trust the dll? Do it yourself
Get dnSpy and navigate to your Battletech installation, go to Battletech_Data and then to Managed. Open up Assembly-CSharp.dll
Example: G:\BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\Managed
Open up Assembly-CSharp.dll
Find SGCharacterCreationNamePanel Class, right click on it and choose Edit Class
Remove They so it looks as the following

Save all to Assembly-CSharp.dll (Backup the old one beforehand)

Does this mod remove "they" from the flashpoint story text? I had a mission to kill Janis Somethingorother and be careful of an ambush because they is such a crafty mechwarrior.
You can tell the original menu option was "gender" but some bluehair kept reeeee-ing until they changed it to "pronoun" and added the "they".

Okay arsehole:
1. It is unfaithful to the original TTRPG. (no sourcebook uses 'they' as a singular third-person pronoun.)
2. It is clearly and semantically incorrect. This grammatical butchering was clearly added by the Seattle-based Harebrained Schemes for "mUH iNcLuSivIty!!11!", to "represent" a fictitious concept (non-binary) that only has members from either mentally ill or LARPers in real life, and, again, is non-existent in BattleTech universe.
We, the fans, don't owe anything to gatekeeping Marxists like you who want to force us with your debunked queer theory agitprop.

1. There are only two genders. (Male and Female)
2. It is fixed from birth and is determined by chromosomes (Absence of 'Y' chromosome = Female, Presence of 'Y' chromosome = Male)
3. Gender cannot change by any means (hormonally, surgically, by makeup or by just thinking you're opposite sex) and remains same from life to death.
