The heaviest hitting, most realistic and balanced Brutal Doom weapon/enhancement pack. Period. This is a Weapon/Effects/Sound enhancement for Brutal Doom using Voltlocks RGA as a base. It is a complete overhaul of the way you interact with Doom. If this is running too slow for you, go ahead and try out the zdoom version. it should do it for ya. (read description.)

Important. (read this)
YOU CANNOT DRAG THIS ONTO GZDOOM BY ITSELF. Do not drag and drop this mod and then say it doesnt work or that it sucks. Dont be a dick and blame me, simply read the info included.
This mod has to be used in conjunction with Brutal Doom. (on the latest build of gzdoom.)
There is a batch included so you can more easily launch the game.
Though ZDL, makes running this a whole bunch easier, just be sure to run it AFTER brutal doom.
This has to be ran with gzdoom with the latest version of zdoom installed.

This is not a Call of Duty mod for dont get all fuckin agro and start saying stupid shit.

This is me putting real guns in doom. A weapon pack that uses real weapons in conjunction with brutal dooms enhanced interactivity.

Weapon graphics have been ripped from call of duty along with weapon sounds, all other remnants of Call of Duty will be removed from this mod as it progresses. Included is a (very taxing) flashlight script, Brightmaps for nearly every character (I definitely didnt do that, a lovely team of zdoomers did), Overhaul of every monster and mechanical sound (pfenh) added effects, shrapnel, explosion replacement and overhaul, all looking to enhance but not infringe on your brutal doom experience.

If you are running into issues running this mod, you can read the very long-winded, very caps locked description of how to do so.

-all guns that have shotgun shells and rifle rounds eject shells. everything but two guns eject shells when shot.
-preserved all the deaths from brutal doom so barons still grab your ass and rip you in half, chainguns still blow your arm off. its good.
-all the deaths and explosions are preserved...heads blow off...grenades demolish entire rooms...barons blow into a bunch of pieces.
-changed the sprites for pickups so that they dont obstruct view when much. definitely need to figure something new out but its presentable.
-changed grenade and rocket behavior. (added dynamic lights)
-weapons have tracers (has been buggy)
-weapons eject magazine according to if he throws the mag to the left it doesnt fly out of the front of your body. stuff like that. a lot of detail and fumbling wiht shit has been done with this. the shotgun ejects the shells behind you, stuff like that.
-a lot of thigns have been changed that not many are going to notice but i couldnt help but change because it has to be on par with brutal doom..and i know hes put a lot of work into that.
-removed regeneration and went with health packs. cant stand regen...and it just isnt doom,
-removed anything that isnt in the original game besides guns. its all about guns with this one.
-added dynamic lights to all guns, explosions, etc. its fuckin awesome. (be sure to run lights.pk3 immediately after gzdoom)
-brought back fast doomguy (fuck being bogged down by weapons, thanks for the input ussr!)
-got rid of the annoying muzzle flash and replaced it with buttery ass dynamic lighting. its better. trust me.
-fixed weird enemy smoke puff, and replaced it with COD style smoke. removing the weird square smoke from previous betas.
-imported all pain effects. (screens cracking, blood on screen ETC)
-removed all RGA features. not a fan. dont want em. sorry.
-Overhauled almost every explosion for effect on monsters and damage.
-added brightmaps (thanks pfenh) to all monsters and textures that would use them.
-changed all sounds. besides revenenants. they dont deserve any treatment...those fuckers.
-am working on optimizing code.


If you cannot get it to run just drop me a comment and I will gladly walk you through set up (or point you towards zdoom launcher). Dont say it sucks because you cant run it, or its missing content...its beta...and will be periodically updated throughout development. Just ask, I'd be glad to help.

While playing keep in mind there is a pretty large comfortability curve that comes with adding 25 guns, and turning the effects up to 11. play through one wad with it, and i guarantee youll dig it.


if you are having a hard time running it (if its bogging down your computer) go ahead and give the zodom version a try, it is missing features, but still rocks. (it is missing lots of features).

I am having an issue, I have bound 'g' key to drop weapon. If I am fully loaded it gives me the message that I have to drop my weapon 'cause my slots are full. When I drop my weapon it won't let me pick up a new weapon. It still says that my slots are full and won't allow me to pick up the weapon. I even dropped all my weapons and then I can't pick up any weapons if my "inventory" was full before I dropped all my weapons. So all I can do at that point is run around with my fisticuffs. I am using latest GZDoom and ZDL. I am using the default Ultimate Doom IWAD and Brutal19.pk3/zdoom-dhtp-20130802.pk3/a music .pk3/opinhumanbeta.pk3/DoomNukem_Visor.pk3 in that order. It runs and looks and feels great just can't switch out weapons.

Also the visor is not working either. I have used the batch file and am having the same issues. Can't pickup weapons and visor not working.

Okay I figured out the drop/pick up weapon issue. I had the wrong drop command bound to a key so I fixed that. But still can't get the visor to work and without it I can't see how much health, armor, and ammo I have.

What engine you are using? If you are using Zandronum, let me tell you that it DOESN'T work on Zandronum. Use G/ZDoom instead.

As for the could be a resolution thing or something.
If there's any more info on that lemme know. ARE there any error codes or anything for the visor?
If you can't get it to work play without it. It's sweet but it is cumbersome and you won't miss it haha. I promise!

I'm not seeing any errors specific to the visor in the console. I will try without the texture pack and get back to you. I am playing at 1920x1080. I had the visor in my gzdoom folder before cause I have used it before and it was working then. I replaced that one with the one in your .zip but they appear to be the same since they were the exact same size but over wrote it just to be safe. I will try a few things and again get back to you so others that are having this issue can get some help. My only issue with not running the visor is I'm not getting any type of hud so I can't see what my health and armor are at and it's nice to know if you can go in guns blazing or you need to be careful, that kind of stuff lol.

i take my doom seriously and flipping stuff off isnt really apart of my whole "im fighting the legions of hell" agenda.
so for now it stays out. and probably will forever. its just silly to me, and i set out to make an extremely not silly version of doom.

what do you mean? a flashlight for operation inhuman or a flashlight for your mod?
my flashlight was taken from the resources tab on zdoom forums i think lilwhitemouse did it.
therefore i cant take any credit, you can throw me in there as a "adviser" haha.

I remember the first time I saw Real Guns Hardcore. I nearly rolled my eyes hard enough to kill myself. No offense to Cawah Doody - I'd be a hypocrite if I hopped on the hate train, given the sheer amount of hours I put into the series (sooo many hypocrites on that train, baby) - but the combination seemed way too silly to exist.

That said, there's a lot of hard work in this different incarnation, and it's evident immediately. It goes way beyond a cosmetic assortment of weapon skins. Each weapon has its own wildly unique characteristics and distinct "feel." That this can be achieved in the Doom setting is very impressive. Good work for a fresh Brutal Doom experience.

i did the same thing dude, i was like "really? ******? really? like youre gonna do that?"
but i got bored with the same six weapons (because id decided to drop doom 2 as a beta pretty much and only added one ****** weapon hahaha) and downloaded every weapon pack i could find, i went with a counter-strike one originally but it didnt play well at all with brutal.
so i jumped over to RGA and didnt much like the call of dutyness but couldnt help but notice all the guns were like way ****** responsive, that they all felt legit and they actually felt like their call of duty was weird.
so i started going through and editing it on my own preference is what you see today,
i cant really take any credit for this, the whole thing started from voltlock, the mans a genius because some of this code is extremely complex and i would never be able to understand decorate to that degree haha.
i went through and made it work, i added the shells the blood the damage the sprites the sounds the brightmaps the effects (and a lot of those are from PFEnh by the way beacuse z86 ****** rocks).
so most of the end user experience i have added but none of it would exist without voltlock and z86 helping out.
and i know looking at the download tabs everything thinks "**** that" because i was in the same boat, but i think at the end there really arent many similarities to call of duty besides the fact the guns look the same. i ****** hate call of duty (stopped at modern 2) but i play my mod every day because frag grenades ****** kick ***.
so i wanted more guns, so i made this haha.

thanks man. i really hope you keep playing it, im adding new effects and **** now so its going to be spiced up very soon.

I think a good idea would be to take the grenade explosion effect from Project MSX, I think it's cool as HELL. Seriously, it's brilliant! Also, it is possible to record the weapons that Real Guns Hardcore did instead of throwing them here? Real Guns Hardcore REALLY killed the quality in the weapons, they look fake, low-res and grayscaled. Mind if you do some new records please? :D

And talking about Z86's Particle Fire Enhancer mod, I know where he had all those sound effects; Doom 3, Quake 4 and Quake 2. I was impressed how Z86 actually stole the sounds from Doom 3 rather than resampling them to 8 bit depth... I can send you more sounds from Doom 3, Quake 4 or Quake 2 if you want.

So, I'm having an error when trying to start it (I'm using Zandronum, if that makes a difference). I have read the instructions, and placed the file contents in my WADS folder where Doom and Doom2 are (I have the Doom 3 BFG edition on Steam, and I'm able to play normal Brutal Doom on it). I have both the Zandronum and Brutal Doom in the WADs folder, so that's where I also put this addon at. When I open the .bat file for Brutal19 (which I edited to open the zandronum.exe instead), it would prompt me to select either Doom 1 or 2. When I try loading either of them, it'll load, but then come up with a fatal error of:

"Execution could not continue.

Script error, "opinhumanbeta.pk3:thecodes.wad:W_DEFAUL" line 19:
"weapon.bobstyle" is an unknown actor property"

Any advice?

I gotcha.
You can't play this mod with zandronum. For some reason zandronum hates my mod so I out bob style in there to make it officially not work.
It's strictly gzdoom or zdoom dude. And the newest versions you can find of those.

Otherwise it'll give you error like that because it's not up to date with the latest ****

EDIT; Very very few sounds doesn't work with GZDoom for absolutely unknown reason. One of those is the "Backpack_Drop" sound, it doesn't play in-game. All guns and reloads, however, play normally.

is it giving you the "expected a name but got something else" thing? because if thats the case what brutal are you playing with?
it usually happens with the ****** backpack haha, so pay attention to what youre picking up and see if you can find out what the problem is (best way is to find that thing, quicksave then try and reload the quick save, i doubt its a gun, its probably something you dont pick up very often)
if thats happening a lot (ive had two people tell me about it) ill need to fix it.

what brutal doom are you playing with?

Workin on it (the ammo counter) for a HUD. Because it sucks. Trust me I know haha.
If there was an easy way to show what weapons are in which slot I would but I'd have to write ACS codes and I don't want to add more of that **** just so it preserves peoples save games.
I am however going to add a super realism mode where you only carry like three weapons and die after like three gunshots haha.
I've been playing a lot of rainbow six haha.

Been playing some hours, it's awesome, so much demons and sh1t exploding, sick. The few things I think that you cuold rework or edit are:
-M4 doesn't reloads if you are aiming with iron sights, you must stop aiming to reload, not game killing but a bit unconfortable.
-Shotguns needs way more damage, at least they feel very weak.
-Desert Eagle, the smg on slot2 (I don't know it's name @_@), and the AK are a bit missaligned when you aim on iron sights.

I'm glad you dig the explosions haha. They're updated and more awesome in the newest version with shrapnel and ****. I'm gonna upload it soon.
M4 is fixed in newest.
Shotguns are probably gonna stay because I wreck **** with the hot gun. I could tighten the spread but I really decimate with em. So unfortunately they'll probably stay dude. I'm sorry. But it's a balance thing.
I know! ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY! But the amount of editing it would take to fix it is a whole **** load. And since they're off just a tiny but I'm just gonna leave it.

1. Why is the G36C reserved in the LMG sniper slots when its a assault rifle?

2. I think it would really add too the feeling if you added some type of pump action shotgun like the SPAS and for the LMG a M134 Minigun. The reason is too have realistic weapons that have a doom feel too them and I think those two would be awesome if you could add them.
