Kay, good to know that, I'll improve my Brushwork and Areaportal-use then.
By the way, I started working on this map when I had absolutely no skill, so it's mixed between Intermediate mapping and Noob mapping :D
But I really expected at least a totel 5/10, well :D
Don't get me wrong, I understand your enthusiasm and applaud it.
I think you have released this test a little too early. You should have tried a few good friends first and built on it a bit more.
Oh well:
The start looked very promising.
Then there's drop through the grating where I could not help but lose life - down to 53% (did I miss something?).
Headcrabs, break through the planks, Zombies - fine and not a bad area.
The boat in the wall is illogical. It has a box of power-ups. Easy enough to get by picking up, chucking, kill barnacle.
The next room - fine & standard procedure.
Then the corridor with the exploding barrels. I can only say that trapping the player with so many exploding barrels is not good. I switched on 'GOD' until it was over but this defeats your purpose.
You might like to review your use of the Lambda logo. The usual purpose is to get the player to a stache of ammo and power-ups or to hint at the way forward (through a vent for example).
Oh, you surely noticed some physics objects at the start.
These are supposed to be threwn down to break the grate open.
For the lambda caches, they were from older versions of the map, where there were supplies to be pickep up, I just forgot to delete the decals too.
Also, when I was playtesting, the barrels were not hard, you have to go to a corner and shoot the barrels at the right time, it's not hard when you await the 4th or 5th barrel and shoot the one that is nearest from you, so that the others are pushed away and can't harm you anymore.
In additition, in the big hall, there are 4 supply-caches, if you manage to find all, I give you cookies.
However, I also added some physics-bases things, you surely noticed the wooden platform on the water, if you throw a crate or another object on it, you can see a bit more of the big hall.
In terms of game mechanics I.E falling barrels, scripted sequences, it wasn't too bad, however the level design was very poor indeed

Good for you and I hopes this helps.

Physics objects: Oops I'll do it again.
Cookies please!
Yes got the wooden platform and used it by chucking a crate on to it, nice touch.

well, this map was good, but it could need some...inprovements..
Yep, I told this was a very early build and is not really representative for my mapping skills, trust me ;)
