Here it is! Over a year of hard work by the Doom 64 TC staff. April 2002 is when we started, on July 1st we released the first version, and now on December 15th, the final version is here!
Please note, it's not exactly the same as it's N64 counterpart. We've added as much as we could in the time that we spent on it. Most gripes are nitpicky stuff, like some switch graphics aren't the exact same and such. But what we have here is a conversion that lets those without N64s know what they've been missing. There's mouse control, as well as 4 new levels, and a few new surprises in store. ;)
Deathmatch, while tried in the past, has been ultimately removed, unfortunately. When tested, the 3D levels just wouldn't work right, and the overall integrity of the game was pretty bad. Also, demos have been taken out due to playback errors and compatability.
To run the Doom 64 TC, You must have the Doom2.wad (hope you paid for it), the install file, and the music wad.
After download, simply run the excecutable and extract into your hard drive. A Doomsday installation is no longer required, so don't install into your Doomsday directory. After you install Absolution (the directory is already made), put your doom2.wad and music wad into the Absolution\Bin\Data\doom64\Auto\ directory. Then just run Absolution.exe in the Absolution\Bin\ directory and you're set!
Now, for the music. There are 2 music wads. There's the normal one, at 52 megs, which has all of the Doom 64 music in great quality, and the 56k one, which is just over 20 megs, which is lower quality, but still has all of the tracks and is decent quality. Simply put the wad into your Auto directory (as mentioned above) and you'll have beautiful ambient music.
Below are the links to the files. There are 2 mirrors to the Doom 64 TC file, and 1 mirror for the music wads. Use whichever one gets you the best speed.
Enjoy. :)

To the uploader/creator:
Please convert from 7z to .Zip.
I've been dying for a proper Doom 64 pc conversion for years now. I found yours, I can only assume it is ******* amazing, but I can't play it!
The program I have can only unzip .zip files. Not .RAR files, or .7z. Please convert. I will be most appreciative.
download this! its free and easy to use with no "Free Trial" stuff!! i just downloaded this mod today and its great, you need this program! (i recommend getting the beta version) 7-zip.org download for 32 or 64 bit whichever you use!
I'm still waiting for Someone to convert the whole of Doom 64 into an IWAD like Doom.wad & doom2.wad instead of just a stand-alone app.
I think this would be much better as well, honestly. I'm having a lot of trouble with the Doomsday engine, and I would much rather just run this with GZDoom and get all this hassle over with.

I did everythin gin the description, yet i every time i run the Absolution.exe it goes black then says windows has encountered a problem and is closing it. Any idea on what i might be doing wrong?
Same here
My only complaint about this mod (just got done playing it; freakin' fantastic!) is that one of the secrets in "No Escape" does not trigger, no matter what you try. Specifically, it's the one that involves the Backpack in the room full of pillars and Shotgun Guys that spawn in.
For a Secret Hunter such as myself, this drives me crazy, lol; ending a level with 66% Secrets makes me go all OCD n' stuff.
Is there something that can be done to rectify this? Maybe program a WAD file that can allow the secret to be triggered?
It doesn't work for me. The iWad is in place, but as soon as I start Absolution.exe the screen goes black, and then goes back to Windows with an error message that reads "Absolution.exe has stopped working". No matter what I try, it doesn't want to start for me.
Same to me
Try just installing it to the C: drive as it prompts you to extract to. If you run the Absolution.exe from there it might work. That's what I had to do after experiencing the same thing.
This mod is fun runs smooth on my android and windows 10 pls contiue make more mods like this
Still a great mod to this day! I used this as a base for my first mod. It is also the truest to life TC of Doom64 that I've seen which doesn't require a N64 cartridge! This was made by the same guy that made Doom64EX. Don't try to run it in a new Doomsday Engine! Just follow the instructions and make sure you have your Doom2.wad file ready.
I have a question, how the hell do i compile this thing? It seems to be outdated and i have no idea on how to update it over to newer compilers.
Hello to everyone
right now I am playing the original doom 64 and there are two things that bother me:
1) why the hell I keep seeing an auto weapons switching during a fight even thought I still have ammo in the weapon I chose to start the fight with?
2) is there a chance somebody here can tell me how to install the absolution source port which can be found here:http://www.doom2.net/doomdepot/abs-download.html
to sum up I want to add two more things:
1) unless you know another way please don't tell me to speak with Kaiser (I already tried to write him threw this site and threw email using these emails:
svhome@gameslink.net and kaiser@newdoom.com
2) for the source port I want to add that I don't use Doomday engine nor jdoom
many thanks for all the helpers
It simply crashes when loading Absolution.exe. Not sure why, I click ok after setting Auto to everything and I have the DOOM2.wad and the music.wad in the correct Auto folder and it doesn't seem to want to work. Windows 10, GTX 1070.

Got it to work, comment helped. Someone said I had to just put in basic C drive not even in Program Files and that worked for some odd reason. So yeah don't place it anywhere but c:/ and it should work.
It works fine for me, though I can't seem to get the music to play. Instead, all I hear is the Doom 2 music.
Edit: working now. I was using a similar but incorrect music file.
Btw, is there a way to increase the FOV?
I am pretty sure that FOV can be changed in the doom64.cfg file, along with jump power and a few other things.
. . . marine ... this is y0ur . ., ... . last chance tooo ... . . . . . ; . *
will this work with Brutal doom 64???
brutal doom 64 has his own doom 64 maps so i dont think so
