MONSTROUS TUNES FOR YOUR DEMON HUNTING. HOPE YOU ENJOY
When it comes to playing DOOM, I prefer the music of the classic games over the creepy-mood ambiance that you get with DOOM64. That's why I have put together this collection of tunes.
This file is a complete replacement of the ambient sounds, instead giving you a variety of songs that cover various classic DOOM tunes from DOOM, DOOM II, Final DOOM TNT, and Sigil. Hard rock, creepy classical, electronic, etc etc etc. Good stuff.
I gathered these tunes from various sources such as other uploads on this site, OCRemix, or directly from the artist's website. Because of this, I don't know who all of the artists are and cannot give proper credit to everyone. But credit that I AM sure of goes to:
Per Kristian Risvik
Andrew Hulshult
Larsec
Elsa Persson
Ransu
Lorcan
I apologize for any omissions.
Step 1: Navigate to your Brutal Doom64 Skins folder
Step 2: Rename or make a backup copy of ZD64MUSIC.pk3
Step 3: Unzip the downloaded file to this folder. It will replace the previous ZD64MUSIC file.
Step 4: Launch the game and enjoy! New music begins with map01
Thank you! The Doom64 music is cool, but it feels more like Doom to me to rock out while I slay the demons!!!!
Funny enough I grew up playing PSX doom where the music style is similar to Doom 64. So for me it is a opposite way around and doesn't feel like Doom unless the music is foreboding and atmospheric. It all depends upon which Doom port you grew up with :)
Hope you like it!
I need help installing this, so I downloaded the file "Doom64Musicpack." And I added that file into the skins folder, I renamed the previous file "ZD64MUSIC" as "BACKUP" but it seems not to work for me. Any thoughts?
Did you first unzip the file you downloaded? Make sure the file you put in the Skins folder is actually called "ZD64MUSIC"
Also, if you downloaded something actually called "Doom64Musicpack" then that isn't my file. Not sure where that came from, but mine will be called "ZD64MUSIC"
One more thing I thought of: the music I added begins with Stage 1, not the intro stage where you're storming the base (I saw no need to change that one).
hello, does this work with vanilla Doom 64? im pretty young and a scaredy cat of the music in this game...
Sorry for the late reply. I have not tested this, but you can certainly give it a try and see.
Freezing background sound of the plasma gun after switching to another weapon, please fix it, it's terribly annoying
I'm running the DOOM2 port via ZDL with GzDoom-4-8-0
and your ZD64MUSIC.PK3
