We at Plasma Technology are looking for a programmer to help us move towards our vertical slice goals for our game called Abyss. Abyss is a 3D Action Platformer taking inspiration for early 2000s mascot platformers. The world of Abyss is much darker and gloomier then your normal mascot platformer and is designed to contrast sharply against the young naïve player character.

The leadership and core of the team is built from industry professionals with multiple shipped titles under out belts prior to forming this team. We do not expect applicants to be experts or veterans as we are willing to provide guidance and assistance, what we do ask is that you show passion and drive. We strongly believe that you can teach skills but its impossible to teach passion.

Early on in the development of Abyss we chose to use a custom engine. This is due to many reasons such as providing technical freedom, less inherited tech debt, target the ideas and plans of the team and many more factors. Due to the use of a custom engine its important to have a good understanding of C++ but you do not need be be an expert in any sense. Knowledge of other engines can be useful as many engines follow similar structures but at the same time expect a different experience at time.
