Introduction
Hello Indiedb Community, welcome to Witch's Forest devlog#2!
Today, we bring to you our idea of what the main mechanic will be, how it works, and how it relates to the narrative.
Alright, let's start then!
Main Mechanic vs Narrative
From the previous article, we explained that the narrative will be about Witch Hunt. What we haven't told you is that the only way to protect Lillith and Raven from the cold-blooded murderers, is by performing a ritual!
And what better way to develop the main mechanic than it being related to the narrative? That's right, as you will see in the following sections of this devlog, The main mechanic is actually in an interesting and immersive way: stealth. Raven's mission to save Lillith involves evading the hunters stalking them through the forest, gathering all 12 candles crucial for performing a ritual to render their house invisible.

Main Mechanic In Game
Yes that's right, we have in game screenshots to explain how the mechanics will work!
A little context on what is happening here, the blue capsule is the player, the green box is an interactable object that the player can move with magic, the red triangle is the enemy and that little grey circle is the cursor that the player uses to move the box.
The enemy uses a candle to illuminate the path and search for the Witch, if the witch enters his visual camp he catches her. The witch can use objects nearby to block the hunters vision and keep her search for the candles.
Conclusion
This week we showed you guys what the main mechanic of Witch's Forest is and how it also supports the narrative.
Alright, have a nice week!
